Eyebrow wax in case you get an interview?! That is madness, bee!
MD got her nails done I thought at £8.00 getting my eyebrows done was not the worse spend, she didn't do a bad job either. The hairbrush cost £8.99 which I did need, and I have been putting off buying fish and chips for quite some time and decided I would go for it. Bit naughty but there you go, we can't always be saintlyXX

Today I am due to go to the job centre this afternoon, however before I am due to go to the job centre I am 1) going to mechanic to see about getting rear wiper blade replaced as it is broken MD said she would pay for it, then 2) Getting those bricks (X6) and then onto the job centre, I have an appointment today to end self employment as it never really happened. Then I will go to MDs to sort out the fridge and use those bricks. But this all starts at 12:00 I think I will start the journey, I will make sure to have lunch before and I am sure of the brick idea works MD will pay for the bricks as well, which I think they will. So I should be able to rack up another no spend day, however maybe not as I have been craving chocolate again?! Have a good day allXX

Martin has saved the day again, I asked the student loan company if I could have a refund they said there was near £600 possible to refund (I am not sure on the exact figure, I will let you know when I know), this gives me a bit more time to find a lodger or if I get a lodger I will reach my goal for £3500 EF and without a job! With the HMRC rebate I feel like the November is a lucky month, which is strange as my father died in November, perhaps he is helping me from the stars, this is what I think he is doing.

So Christmas is set to be good this year, all I need now is a job and life will be even better, but now I will take this bonus and fly with it. Today has been good one of the friendly members of the job centre was available and once I had done my appointment with the other friendly chap I managed to get tomorrows appointment done as well. I went to the mechanic about the part I needed he said he would let me know when it is available, I think I will call tomorrow, he seemed a little upset today I don't know if he got out the bed the wrong side, perhaps he was just tired or feeling off, maybe I got the wrong end of the stick?

I also picked up some bricks and sorted out the fridge once and for all and it was the right call, the fridge stops going too far back in the recess now and MD said it is great only she wishes it was done sooner!! Any how at least that is done now!

I spoke to MD about sorting out the Christmas decks, I was going to stay at mine and do mine, I know it is a little early but while I am not doing much except job searches etc. I thought I could do this, as I have written I think I will wait until December, however if MDs lodger gets the decks down at hers I will sort hers out for her tomorrow equally it would be quite good to stay in for tomorrow, I want to get back into writing while I am looking for work I also want to do some cross stitch. It is a quiet time of year for jobs so I may as well make the most of the time and do something productive. I think MD appreciated the cross stitch I did for her birthday in a big way so I will be glad to give her the Christmas card I am in the middle of making, I just need to get to it again and finish it.

Also I planned on making a cake but still have not got round to it, I could do with sorting this, but also this could wait until the weekend maybe. And lastly I have two leads for the room and two leads for two different jobs, wait and see time. Have a good evening allXX

Today has not been as friendly, I got turned down for three roles today however there is still one lead, but I am not hopeful. Tomorrow and Saturday I am staying in, today I took groceries to MD a bit earlier then usual and she doesn't have many decks so I didn't even start decorating, I helped out a bit while I was there, then I went home then went to mechanic as part had come in then went to MDs, to get the cash plus help out a little more. I am so glad the car is sorted now.

Tonight & Tomorrow I want to do some housework and any little jobs that need doing before I start to write which I will do tomorrow, I have to admit I am a little nervous about writing, the last time I wrote I left the story at the early stages of introducing the characters 13000 words to be precise out of 100,000! I am a little nervous to go back to it after leaving it so long, also I was of a certain mindset which is now completely destroyed I think? But I will try and see how I go. But first I want my room to be in a better condition, like the desk and the chest of drawers etc, maybe even sort the cupboard out, maybe a list to keep me motivated, later after dinner.

    Have a good evening allXX

I have had a good start to the day, I have received an email saying there is another tax rebate due £934 this will keep me afloat that little bit longer, this is one of the upsides to being in and out of work so often also I have reached out to a young man on spare room who says he will be homeless soon and he has lost his job, he has a budget within my room price. I feel a bit nervey I did say to him that I am not making any promises, his English was good and you never know it might work. Also I find it better to be with younger men, I tend to feel less threatened, but it depends on how the meet goes should he decide to meet me, but it is a chance.

Anyhow we will see and now I have the benefit of time, I still have one job lead which may bear fruit, we shall see. I feel like I have won a prize today with the tax rebate, I did think I was paying too much, MD thought the same, it has come at the right time. If I should be so lucky and get a lodger I will store the money up and maybe treat myself to a few bits this Christmas plus the potential new lodger a little bit as he would likley be here Xmas? should he arrive. Only a few bits so it feels more like a treat.

Today I want to do the housework, it is getting a bit hairy and Friday is the day for chores, therefore a motivational list is needed: -

    1) Prepare for hoovering

    2) Hoover

    3) Clean the bathroom

    4) Put washing away

    5) Change bed linen

    6) Put wash on

    7) Job search

I decided to go to MDs we had a natter I did her toe nails and then I went home to make lunch as she didn't have anything in that I fancied. I will attend to the list I created above again, I just need a breather after lunch. I am aiming for a no spend day today which would make 6/12 - which would be on target as we are very close to mid month now.

SFD said he didn't like the sound of what the potential new lodger was saying in his messages so I have called it off. I wish I had a bit of my own common sense I seem to have lost it, he mentioned he didn't have enough money etc to pay for the rent until benefits came through SFD said you need someone who is going to pay their way and I agree with him, never mind.

Time is on my side, MD and I did say that someone is likley to be looking nearer Xmas or just after, we shall see. It is not the best time. on another note I don't have enough jam for victoria sponge so I am thinking I will use the hot chocolate which is cocoa and sugar and make chocolate cake, YUM! but not today!

Last night the current lodger and I shared the evening together, and in the conversation I mentioned that it wasn't so good that he had eaten tons of junk food instead of a cooked meal. He said that he works so many hours that he hasn't the time to cook something proper and he is all cooked out after cheffing, I said I would cook him a few meals he said he would like that, this will also give me something to work on, also it would be good to get back to the kitchen. I have been hankering after beef stew so that will be the first meal although not one of the cheapest, I will look to creating food on a budget but today I will treat us to Beef stew and I will make a batch so some can go in the freezer, I will also do mash potato.

Also In the conversation I mentioned that I didn't like shop bought flour for pizza he said he uses 01 flour, you can find this in Italian food shops etc. Therefore today is a foodie day, also I will look to make the cake potentially, also I still have a few chores to do I have already washed up and put washing away, I could do with doing the linen change over also. And my no spend days are at 4/12 as I have made an error in two of the days I had forgot about a couple of spends, and as you can tell I won't be adding one today.

I have just done an extensive search for 01 flour and I can't find it anywhere, what a knightmare! I will have to make do with 00!

MD and SFD and I used to go for a sunday meal at a local pub fairly regularly before it changed hands and while we were there we had roast beef and I remember the beef being exceptional. I found a recipe online and well I decided to go to the butcher where the meat was bought from and well I spent a small fortune on meat, I bought 1.5KG chuck beef, 4 rib eye steaks and two pasties for lunch all for £70, this is quite an expensive day, not something to do regularly, but I have had a bit of a winfall, I know I need a job but it is done now and well MD & SFD got Steaks out of it too, I gave them two of the four. I have seperated my two and put them in the freezer as they are a bit older meat and were reduced, they still looked very good, so should be quite a nice meal when it comes around.

I know my lodger likes a lot of pasta, so I think I will come up with some sauce ideas to be mixed in with pasta for future meals, I also like this too. He seems to go for expensive pasta brands, but it won't cost as much as meat! so I will re-do my shop with an italian theme, I don't think I have any cookbooks but there is a wonderful world wide web at my finger tips!

Beef stew is prepped, it will be cooked tomorrow, it is resting in its juices MDs suggestion. I have also washed up so everything in order, next on the list before MD comes back (she is out shopping in Aldi, not far from my flat before I take her home) I will make a cake so we can have cake and drink before she goes, or a slice to take with her. Then linen sort and put wash on!

MD is back thankfully, I always get a bit worried when an elderly disabled person goes out on their own, however I think she enjoys the freedom and I was glad to get the stew started and washing up done and now the cake is in the oven. I have some of Lodgers pasta in the fridge for tonights dinner along with when it is done chocolate cake and cream. Tomorrow I will prepare the mash in the morning so that is done, then put it in the oven in the evening to crisp up and heat when the stew is done. The stew does smell nice and I have put a fair bit of effort into it, so I hope it gets appreciated, it feels good to cook, I have just put together a list for cooking only it adds up to over £100, so I think I need to change it a bit, It is better getting a few extra bits in the biweekly shop then go out and top up on things, also I am hankering after a banana bread with chocolate I have the fat and will get the eggs the rest I need a few bits. Mission for tonight after dinner search budget friendly tasty food and start planning a few tasty meals to cook and think money saving and bulk and batch cooking for friend to the purse. I know today was a bit reckless, spending £70 on meat, If I do it once per year then it is not the worse thing I could do and tbh I normally only want it the once or one batch worth.XX
