  • Bee, the meals sound lovely but I hope the lodger will be paying appropriately for his meals? You should not be feeding working people when you unemployed!

I agree, I think it is good to cook for someone, but I shouldn't have an excessive food bill because of it, also he said he may not eat it, which would mean it would go to waste. However from this I do like the idea of cooking a bit more and using proper ingredients, but I think just one or two batches of something every two weeks to top up the freezer. Also I have been a bit off my food, which you would think was a good thing being overly obese but I just then get food that is not good for anyone (junk). Therefore a few more cooked meals wouldn't hurt, however I am sat here eating one of his creations so a few meals his way would be okay, but not every night that is ridiculous, so I am going to mission now to get the food shop to £60 maximum with a few things to actually cook and not just oven food, that will now be my mission for the evening. Thanks Egoberry, I was thinking this after I put the order in, that I just cannot do it. So I won't. Have a lovely weekendXX

I have found out how much I am getting from student loan rebate it is £688 which will definetely help, plus £934 for tax rebate, today I have racked up another no spend day today making it 5/12 no spend days - not many but something. I have written 1000 words today which was my goal as well as search for a job. I have been feeling a lot of tension today and I don't know why?

Today I am staying in and giving MD & SFD space, I have spent a lot of time there being without a job, even if I am lonely or bored I will stay put. Things I want to do today include sorting the kitchen, cleaning the bathroom, doing the linen, putting on a wash, plus write 1000 words (I think little and often is best, as opposed to loads and infrequently) & read.

My library book I am reading cannot be renewed again, I have until about the 12th December to read it, so I must get cracking on it I am about halfway through and I am really enjoying it, so I do want to get to the end, I am just being slow! So a few chapters today would be good.

I am up to 14000 words on the book or 14% I don't know if anyone else would enjoy it, I guess that will be the ultimate goal that someone else read it and they enjoy it, anyhow it is enjoyable to write, so I will carry on with my goal of 100,000 words.

Also if this book fails, actually either way I will try and write a non fictional book about how to get established in England next, this will be shorter in length like 30,000 words it will be aimed at the young (but could be for anyone) and starting there journey to becoming independent. It is something I have wanted to write for a while since starting my money saving journey, it will have everything sensible about being money savvy and getting on the property ladder etc, things I wish I had read when I was either in school or just starting out, but that is for another time, first the fictional book. I know Martin has done some stuff on this, however I want to do my own version that maybe is less academic, more friendly advice giving. Also using Martins advice as well so I hope he doesn't mind, sometimes a different perspective can shed light to those that would otherwise be unaware. Anyhow I have another 86,000 words to write of my fictional book yet!

A list for the morning would be good so I can get those pesky tasks out of the way: -

    1) sort kitchen out

    2) change bed linen

    3) put wash on

    4) clean bathroom

    5) hoover

    6) Mop

    7) read a chapter

    8) write 1000 words.

    9) Look for a job & Apply.

    10) R&R.

That will do for today, as well as I want to contact recruiter about a job that was a possibility. Have a good day allXX

Sometime later .... OMG I have just seen my old job advertised only direct with the employer as opposed to a middle man, it was listed three weeks ago, I have just applied my word if they are interested I would be absolutely gobsmacked and thrilled, it was the best ever job I have ever had...OMG imagine if this is my pathway? Wowser! Anyhow lets see, it is too soon to know. But just imagine, I am soo excited, it would make my year tbh!

I have a lead for another two roles, the one I mentioned and another, both credit control what I like, both hybrid. I have no leads for the room as of yet. Last night I bought choc but today I have added a no spend day so I'll stay the same at 5/12. I have written 1000 words as I already mentioned which is good that I have done something productive I am up to 15,000 words or 15% another 85% to go. Also getting all the chores done is great, I am glad the kitchen is back to normal again and the bathroom clean and the bedding done yippee!

It is 15:49 I am unsure what to do with the rest of the day, maybe some cross stitch and more reading and dinner is sorted I am having lodgers meal as he hasn't eaten it, sod him! I'll do another job search first. Wishing you all a a good nightXX

    Update: -

News just in I have been approached by one of the jobs I had applied for a little while ago. It is perm more involved however it is Part time, I think this is good because MD could do with me around a bit more I feel, I know I shouldn't hold back on having a career. But the way I see it is if I am employed even part time I am keeping my toes in the work world, I can carry on writing and get my book done which is one of my great ambitions and see if I can get anywhere with that, (Bucket list item to complete!) and I can take MD out, I won't have masses of money but I will be commuting closer to home my working week will be finished by COP Tuesday and once I have written the book I can either write another which I would definetely consider and or get another part time job.

However also I have been approached by a recruiter for a credit control position however the commute is not in an area I am keen to go to, but I would because the job is what I want to do, it will be more money and it is hybrid I could really do something with the cash, the software I would be using is my favourite however the other job in London which is one day per week in the office I also love their software. If I had the pick of all three part of me wishes to try my hand and finish the book and go with the part time job, another part of me thinks that I enjoy credit control, but the commute puts me off some what. I am going for all three, but you can see where my head is at.

    Have a lovely evening allXX

Sometime later...MD said go for all and I am and see what happens!

Sometime later...MD did ask which job would you prefer doing it has to be the two commuting ones, I love credit control and it would be good to earn some decent cashXX

I feel like such a pig I was hungry didn't like what I had in got a cash boost this morning and spent £20 in bakery, I got bacon butty, vienese finger, apple turnover with cream, 2 cokes and a bag of tea cakes (ones with fruit in to toast) all I have left is a partial can of coke and Bag of tea cakes unopened. I am the worlds biggest pig, it feels like I have no control, I have lost all brains and I am doing whatever I feel like - what is wrong with me? Being sensible with no job seems to have slipt through my mind - this post is my wake up call that I need to do something about it. If I had got the bread out the freezer I could of had soup and bread for lunch which would have been no extra cost and I would have enjoyed, I think without the routine of the job I am falling in to bad ways - It doesn't help that MD has coke at her house and unfortunately it is my favourite drink I have been going every day and I keep having coke, I can't not have a drink when I go, because I love coke!

My cereal sets me up wrong and I think I should be on a diet, I want to be in a romantic relationship again but I look like the back of a bus, I may have got eye brow wax the other day but really I need a face transplant or a blubber reduction. I am trying to be comical here but really I am not nice to look at or naked, I hate my naked self always have done ever since I was young, I have always had a tyre around my waist. Also I have to factor in the diabetes diagnosis, I just can't get away with eating all this stuff and I do want to live even if it is just me. I think I will join SW but online, I didn't get on with the leader of the group meeting, no harsh words just a bad feeling, I would feel more comfortable not attending their group.

So a plan... I will have a budget and diet friendly Christmas to make up for my lack of sensibility, mission 1 get the current shop down to £60 and it be diet friendly tooXX

  • HI crazy, don't beat yourself up. Look at all the curvy ladies with partners when you next out. If they can find someone so could you.
I don't think slimming world is good for diabetics. My friend eats lots of pasta whilst trying to loose weight on slimming world. I managed 10 lbs following Dr Mike Mosley's "blood sugar diet" it's tough, next to no carbs (dr's orders here) but I got from 48 down to 43mmol. I am meant to exercise more but I don;t like the cold. What do I eat? Porridge for breakfast as it's warm and filling, then meat/fish and veg. Aiming for 800 calories a day. I end the day with a 100 calorie curly wurly.
Stay warm and fingers crossed for another role soon.

Thank you Chievely the voice of reasoning, you are quite right I just need to be more mindful, make sure I have plenty of nutritious variable options in so that I don't end up spending £20 in the bakery at lunchtime or £30 for take out at dinner time, I have ordered a wok so the shop is a bit more, but I can do quorn and veg and sauce and noodles for dinner, which would be a welcome change. Also I have a variety of meals to cook at home for lunch such as fish fingers and ravioli...Yum! (Not diet food, but would be better then the alternative and friendlier on the purse too!). I have also ordered meusli for breakfast no added sugar which will be an improvement to sugar coated stuff I have now! Rather then jump about dieting failing and coming back, I will opt to 'be prepared' for the days ahead and order things 1) I will eat, 2) Will stop me from buying excessively from the shops/ bakery/ take out. However it is expensiveXX
