Morning. I hope your Christmas was great.
We had a jolly old time, lots of fun.
Today, I am on my own while DH visits his DM. So far I've sorted food in fridge and freezer, prepped some fruit salad and sorted out banking etc as it's my pay day.
Just having breakfast. The aim today is to walk Poppet and potter but I do also have a new book to read. Ooh, wordle in six.
Have a fantastic day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.8 -

Morning all
We have had a thick blanket of fog since first thing yesterday and it's showing no sign of shifting. DH has gone to work and DS is working on his laptop in the spare room.
I had plans to walk or cycle but don't even feel like driving in the fog, and it's not great weather for being outdoors. I also feel oddly anxious.
So, I have decided that being purposeful is the way forward. I am up washed and dressed, one load of washing done and over the airer, DW on, mince defrosting to make shepherds pie later. I am now going to tackle my finance spreadsheets which I have not looked at properly for weeks. This may help with the anxiety, I know it's been an expensive month even without Christmas and having a plan will make me feel better.7 -

Morning all. Hope you are all fit and raring to go - though I wouldn't blame you if you had decided to stay in bed for an extra hour or two!
It's a misty, moisty, murky morning here. DH has gone off to an all-day wargames club meeting, so of course he was up in plenty of time. I was supposed to be going to my favourite NT property with a friend, but she texted at 8.30 to say that she is expecting a phone call from the horse piddle about re-starting chemo and will ring me after that for a chat, so our lunch plans are more than halfway out of the window. Fortunately there is half a packet of smoked salmon and some nice pâté in our fridge, so I should be able to cobble together a nice snack. L has taken Rosie for a walk. I have tried to take advantage of her and DH's absence to do some basic flying before bringing all the family's Christmas presents downstairs - yes, they have been wrapped
It feels as if my social life is falling apart around me. Yesterday K was supposed to be bringing the girls here at 5pm for a full turkey dinner. At 5.45 I wanted to put the veg in to cook but there was no sign of the three of them, so I began texting her, only to receive from her "Is it tomorrow that we're coming to your house?" I am a bit miffed, but we enjoyed a quiet evening watching the quiz shows and Queen. Well, a quiet evening watching the quiz shows and then not-so quiet watching Queen!! I appreciate their musical prowess far more now than when they had their first hit with "Seven Seas of Rhye" - perhaps because I was trying to get baby DS1 to sleep
Anyway, so far I have
- FUPA clean laundry
- put the turkey carcase on to boil, to make some good hearty soup
- loaded the DW
- WULTDPA all the pans and dishes except the turkey roasting tin, which is soaking
- PUPA in the LR
- pulled DH's duvet into place so that it looks tidy if he leaves his door open
- begun tidying my desk yet again
I really should get dressed...
Hope everyone has a good day, whatever you're doing xxx7 -
Morning all,
We had a lovely day yesterday with DSis and BiL and family. We left sharpish (I escaped some of the washing up, but did do some!) as DD was off to her friend’s house. As we have had The Fog here since the morning of Xmas Eve, with no sign of lifting, I was keen for her to get there sooner rather than later. The fog and murk shows no sign of lifting.Just me and DH here today until DD gets back from her jaunts, including getting her haircut. I have done a few jobs - wm run, clean washing sorted, gammon in the sc, freezer tetris (how I got a joint of pork in, I have no idea), fridge contents looked at before shutting the door hastily - but I do keep getting distracted by my library book…. I ought to be doing something else now, but as I can’t remember what it was, I might just sneak in another chapter…
Hope everyone who is back at work is OK. Iona, hopefully your social whirl is postponed and not cancelled.6 -
Strands with six hints.
I have cleaned out kitchen bins and the cupboard they're kept in and dusted fireplace. About to put second wash load on airer, refill toilet rolls then have a couple of hours reading.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Morning All
Feeling rather shattered, but enjoyed Christmas. Flying will just be DW, S&S-ing, putting things away, air & remake bed.
Coffee & a shortbread first methinks....

I have been bitten by a stressed bunny...popped into Daisy's run to get her manger ( a hook on hay basket to forage from) and she ran out, got to the other doe, Miffy, started fighting (fur flying as in cartoons - think it's a defence mechanism) and then I got in the way so she went for my leg! Anyway i'm bruised with no skin broken. It's throbbing though.
Washing on line (non TD stuff), recycling bins emptied and back in, some work admin done. TD emptied and folded.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
