Merry Christmas everyone, hope it's a lovely day and if this is a tough one for you sending you love and strength. This time tomorrow it will be done.
DH has gone to work and DS is in bed. I am having a quiet cup of tea with the dog and listening to Christmas carols, oh and giving DS1 advice over WhatsApp about Tinnitus! Shower next then family time later. I am taking cauliflower cheese and mash to DSs so we will do that when DS is up.

Merry Christmas to all FlyPeeps past and present.Love the advent puzzle Kazwookie.(((Hugs))) Narco. I'm not surprised you had a meltdown or two given how hard you've been pushing yourself since you realised your mother needed more help than was available if she stayed at home. That moment when you fully realise the person you knew is drifting away is a horrible one. All I can say is that my mother's illness was like that, and I thought I'd lost her forever until one Friday in early December 2006. I went to visit her as usual and she seemed quite cheerful and very much her old self despite the wheelchair, so I stayed for lunch and we carried on chatting, and then I stayed for the afternoon, watching TV, her doing her tapestry, me doing something - I forget what - that kept me occupied until her bedtime. It was a day of clarity for her, the like of which she hadn't had for years. I've never forgotten it, particularly because the following weekend she was in another place mentally and to be honest never herself again, but hugely cheerful on Christmas Eve and offtering the gluwein we took in for her in a flask to all the care assistants who happened to be passing by. Those two days were like a miracle and I'm sure those windows happen to everyone despite the illness.Dizzy I know you won't see this until later, if at all, but I'll be thinking of you, as I'm sure your family will and all other Flypeeps. This day will pass and in reality it really is just another day, one of 365 that are, for most of us, rather good days one way or another every year. Your kids will be back and life will return to normal. We had egg and chips for supper last night - it was perfect!Better is good enough.9
