CoG, lovely to see you, so sorry that you have been having a rough time. As the wise Iona says, look after yourself and A and everything else can wait.HB, so often you manage to articulate what I didn’t always know that I was thinking. Thank you x
Kaz - that made me smile. So many cats!A Trundling sort of day today, nothing major, but bits of this and that sorted. I have dropped DD in small town to meet a couple of friends this afternoon and will do the return pick up when I get the call. DH is going out for a drink in the village later so I am planning on maybe a full hour of the house to myself, and in peace and quiet. I have refused for many a year to get caught up in the Christmas chaos and in the post Christmas sale madness. As Kaz says, there is food in the house, we have a roof over our heads, by this evening everyone here will be hunkered down for a day or so. That’s enough.Love to you all on this Christmas Eve, my most favourite day of Christmas x6 -
CofG hope you both feel better soon and enjoy what you can.
I've had a couple of meltdowns, first last night when DB rang to say house contracts had arrived and we had a heated discussion about organising house clearance. Then after Mr N and I went to visit Mum, she's fine in general but it's beginning to sink into my thick head that she will never be the same mentally. Then had to ring one of her friends who'd sent a card but hadn't heard about mum's strokes.
However, after a cuddle and whimper with Mr N I'm fine. I got the Xmas pudding done last night, ditto the nut roast. Chocolate-dipped the 2nd batch of candied orange peel. Made a table centrpiece with leftover flowers. Now at BIL who has incorporated his flower present into his fireplace. Happy Christmas to you all xRemember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
amazingly shops were fine Mr M and emm and ess not busy at all! spent some of my winnings, got some left and picked up some tins for foodbank; no doubt January will be tough for some. The French lady who vols at the foodbank (and taught me French at school and never went home, she was an exchange student or something) told me they need meat. Noted.
presents wrapped. house ready.

Merry Christmas to you all. Sneaking in first as I'm working from 7am until 6pm so won't be online until the evening.
Packed DH, Small and Tiny off down south to stay with Big and GF for the Christmas period. They arrived safely and I've been sent photos of the boys with Grandad (my dad) so I'm glad that he made time to pop in and see them and exchange presents.
I have flown like a mad woman this evening and my back is now aching, along with my hip, so having a cuppa in bed then snoozing through until my alarm. This will be my first Christmas Day at home alone, so a little sad about that, but some lovely friends have invited me over after work if I get lonely.
Hope you all have a wonderful day x8 -
Merry Christmas everyone.8
