Depends on the rental SS but quite often they have all the white goods included. Have you checked what they are like in your area?

Don't forget the little things like cutlery and cooking utensils.

    A kitchen timer is a God-send.

    Tell me about it!

Kettle, cutlery, mugs, plates, bowls, knives, chopping board, saucepans, frying pan, cooking dishes, tea towels, scissors, bottle opener, tin opener, cooking untensils! It just goes on.

Then things like a table, lamps, bedside cabinet, hoover, iron, ironing board!

Thats the only thing. Might be able to save on frigde and washer/dryer!

But all the rest adds up! I guess it's not all essential, like bedside cabinet and maybe I could put up with a 32" TV! :p

Argos does "student kits" with all sorts of stuff in them.

Guys, do you think furnishing a flat for £3,500 is reasonable? :undecided

I'm just scouting around prices for bits and bobs (ie at Argos) just to get a general feel and I can blow that easily! :rotfl:

Admittedly I may have budgetted £750 for a 40" TV :p but it doesn't seem to stretch far!

    So far I'm budgetting;

Sofas - £750 :confused:Dont need to spend that much I got 2 leather sofas from Argos for £500
TV - £750 Boys and their toys eh?

    Fridge/freezer - £300 about right
Washing machine - £300 should get one for about £200
Microwave - £100 Made of gold is it??? Or are you going to use this for all cooking as I cant see a cooker on your list.

Bed/mattress - £500 Always worth getting a decent bed, it will get alot of hammer;)
    Wardrobe - £300 about right
    Bedside cabinet - £50 OK

And there is so much missing from that list!

I know there is freecycle, but I'd like to be able to buy my own things! :undecided

I agree with the others though its the little things that all add up.
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.
