  • I'm all in black today in black jeans and jumper, but the jumper is Reiss and one I normally save for best - I'm endeavouring to use my nice things more. I've jazzed up this a bit with dangly 'tree of life' silver and abalone shell earrings my mum gave me, and a beautiful blue and green paisley pashmina I haven't worn in awhile.
No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!

Aw that's so lovely @Wanna_Bee_Free, and I love the sound of the seahorses design. Hope the appt has good outcomes. Let us know what's next up in the jewellery advent!

I'm sorry for your loss of your sister @~FlowerPot~ and hope the difficult day was got through as well as can be. How very beautiful you could put that on for the first time since losing her and feel connected x

A marvellous outfit @shandyclover, I'm also trying to get out of the habit of saving things for 'best'. Good for mental health, and for the budget as one is less tempted into spends when permitted to use their own things! Us humans are a daft lot sometimes 😁

My advent jewellery today is a pair of earrings, a gift from a friend, in a gold metal that are really unusual and look good with everything- and I never wear them because they're clip-ons. Not sure what my logic is there- I have pierced ears so can't wear clip-ons?! What daftness!
  • My advent earrings today are understated, a light blue stud that is easy to wear. I bought them at the same time as a larger more flamboyant pair which I tended to choose out of my jewellery box first. I'm glad these have been out of the house today.

Yesterday's was a routine Doctor's visit for my elderly father, all went well, thanks PiP!

Sun Addict really keeps raising the Advent bar higher and higher.

today I've chosen a grey bead and diamanté necklace which I used to wear with a black shift dress for work.  Consequently I don't think I've worn it since before the Lockdown (seems like a hundred years ago now).  I'm also wearing a pretty opal ring that I bought on a trip to Australia.  The trip that had not been budgeted for and every £ and $ was spent on my credit card - yikes!  I suppose that as I'm now debt free I have at least paid for the ring now 😉

I’ve been a bit less ostentatious today despite being out on a Christmas lunch with friends. A sparkly jumper emblazoned with the sequinned words ‘Party’ and my trusty Christmas tree shaped earrings 🙂 That’s me being toned down 🤣
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • You're a bucks fizz in human form @Sun_Addict 😁
Glad you're making the most of the festive season 😊

    Morning.
    Yesterday's mse jewelry advent - -
I wore a handmade brooch. A friend when I was a teenager (actually I rather fancied him at the time💕) was at a local college doing some design course and I was doing a levels, and he made these rather fab,  cute metal brooches, he gave me a fish one and a dinosaur one. This was at the time I worked with him on a mushroom farm!!🍄
    --long long time ago!
Have worn either in years or years!
I am so enjoying this advent.
Not up yet so haven't decided on todays, but it will be something lovely😍😎

  • Aw that's fab @~FlowerPot~

I'm going to a Christmas concert this evening and will be wearing a bling cocktail ring

When do others understand the fifth day of Christmas to be? When I mentioned it before in response to @Blackcats five gold rings idea I was working on the basis that its the fifth day of the 12 before and including Christmas eve, but I'm not sure that makes sense 😁

Good question.  Having undertaken extensive desktop research 🤣 it seems that the 12 days of Christmas start on 25th December so we might have to recall the Advent happy people for our post Christmas hurrah

    https://www.calendarpedia.com/when-is/twelve-days-of-christmas.html

i'm wearing a sparkly necklace, earrings and ring set that MrBC bought me the first time I visited his family.  It's a deliberate reminder of nice holidays that shouldn't be overshadowed by current difficulties.  So I'm letting their sparkle shine brightly today.
  • You definitely deserve that jewellery reward @Blackcats
Thank you for the research, I did not know that!

I'm definitely up for a Twelve Days of Christmas themed 25th December-5th January, how hard can it be? We only need to find:

A partridge in a pear tree
    Two turtle doves
    Three French hens
    Four calling birds
    Fiiiive gooold riiings
    Six geese a-laying
    Seven swans a-swimming
    Eight maids a-milking
    Nine ladies dancing
    Ten lords a-leaping
    Eleven pipers piping
    Twelve drummers drumming

    😁
