Maybe I should ring Waste Wizards to come and collect some of the big items and general clutter - they will gather up stuff I point to (have decided most of the wood and the frame from the oldest polytunnel can go as well as any broken plastic pots).‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Calling the Waste Wizards sounds like a great idea @grandmanerd
First post for me for December, so I'll try and do a little bit of planning. I was away this weekend again, visiting a very dear friend who moved to Stockholm (she's Swedish) 2 years ago, and we hadn't seen each other in 2 years. It was a lovely weekend and very refreshing, did me a great deal of good mentally, not necessarily financially, but I really did a big effort to keep expenses to a minimum. I flew back late Monday night, and was in the office on Tuesday.
I think today is my NSD #3 for this month. I am definitely signing up to removing 31 things in the month, as it worked quite well in November, and I will spend the second half of the month in my mum's house, helping her to declutter ahead of her moving to a new house next year. I have loads of stuff in my childhood bedroom that needs to be sorted, and now it will finally be the time. Breathe in, breathe out. I'll think about it when I'm there.
Budget-wise I really think I should be able to minimize spending as much as possible this month, as I'm fully sorted for the big day, I even have a lot of wrapping paper from last year, and also earlier this year I found a box where I had put all cards and tags, so I am sorted for that too. I will be able to stay away from sales, as I do not need anything and I am making a big effort not to look at promotional emails, and have been unsubscribing from most of them recently. I will also make an effort not to pop into the staff shop at work when I'm in the office. I do not need anything at the moment, and the fact things are only 1-2 pounds is not a good enough reason to buy them, if I do not need them.
I am very busy crocheting trees and decorations for a market next Saturday, I do hope people will fall in love (I have, would live to keep them all for myself) and buy them all, but we will see. I will update you. If they buy them I will count them as out of the house items, as they are using up yarn I bought a couple of years ago, and I didn't really know what to use for.
I have been really enjoying opening my advent calendars this year. I have gifted myself 2 yarn calendars and 1 mystery crochetalong, which all have to be ordered at the beginning of the year, so it's a very welcome gift from past me, bought around the time when I received my annual bonus. Very grateful to past me. Also grateful for the chocolate one gifted to all of us by our VP. And I'm also very grateful for finding joy in the little things this week (choosing the right tea for the right moment and eating a mince pie with it, opening my calendars, lighting all the different candles every evening and enjoying the hygge feel).
Happy December Turtles!

Waste Wizards sound like the perfect Christmas gift to Present and Future you @grandmanerd. Go for it!
Today was very spendy as I am putting off calling bathroom fitters to come round and quote.👀👀 So I went food shopping instead. Tried to measure up for the last two carpets but although I have at least five tape measures, I can't find any. So that did not get done either .
Tonight is Thai green curry with nothing that I bought today 👀. So annoyed with myself 😡 Will get back to being brave tomorrow .
Pathetic really!
The wind is awful here since about 4pm, howling down the chimney. So a nice dinner has been cooked, and I am grateful for my house, being warm, and that I don't have to go out anyway tonight.
Keep warm turtle friends, and if you didn't get things done today, then try again tomorrow.
Sticking on NSD3.

I haven't left the house today, as Pip wasn't fit for school and dh was working 6.30-1.30. But it did mean that I stuffed 9 dinosaurs and sewed up their feet. Now I need to make 9 pairs of eyes...I also started making more needle felted penguins. I tried using the tool that holds 6 needles, instead of stabbing away with just my usual one. My left index finger tip is now rather swollen and very sore. Being used to working with one needle, I stabbed myself hard various times with the six. Ouchie!Today I am grateful for a day at home doing Pip good, for the stuffing and sewing and stabbing, for audio books, for the garlic in the mushroom soup coming to the fore, for fresh bed linen.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!8

Nsd#4 today. Had to visit the doctors and pay for a prescription but medical doesn’t stop a nsd I believe so I’m on 4. Weather here is awful. So rainy and windy. I am extremely grateful to be indoors and safe tonight. My heart goes out to people without safe housing/ any housing when the weather is like this. Not feeling great today and not feeling very festive either. Got to plod along.

Grateful for having my own personal driver today - sd2 dropped me off at work and picked me up and valeted the car in the meantime. Before he dropped me off we went through the car wash that was an incredibly relaxing start to a busy day. I had money paid out from my grant ant got an email saying - grant closed. The best news ever. That is one big box ticked.
For dinner I made harissa chickpeas with zatar grilled chicken. Yum!
Happy Thursday,
Grete

Hugs to all that need one. Definitely a good idea for waste wizards @grandmanerd. Good luck with the craft fayres folks!
Felt quite tired today & still stressed from last night's sewing. Did my yoga & Norwegian. Walked into school & the stress increased. Will be glad once the Nativity play is over on Monday! Folk may think that school is fun at this time of year, & some parts are, but behaviour has declined already 😓 which makes it harder for the staff!
Left promptly to try & find a customer's house in the semi-dark & rainy night. Thankfully I found it ok, but was harder to see my way home afterwards. (Think Mr Magoo!)
Cut & pinned 4 pairs of trousers ready for shortening after tea. Had a relaxing bath. Hopefully tomorrow will be a calmer day...
Grateful for calm periods in the day, a dry breaktime, finding the house in the darkUse it up, wear it out

NSD #4 today. Yesterday we did food shopping and DB1 returned from his few days away. Today I was working in the office as I had to attend a face-to-face occupational health appointment. Only half a day though and then had to pop into solicitors when I got off the train on my way home to sign probate application so that’s progressed another important thing.Thankful for a good OH appointment, probate application progressing and seeing friends at work.8
