I spent £15 at the Community Shop yesterday (no food waste and ending food poverty). However I do still need to do a very selective shop at some point for things that help me use up some of the things we have. I made three donations on Tuesday (double up day), 2 one offs and one monthly DD. Awake early this morning and wrote a list of 'urgent' stuff - mainly so I can stop fretting about forgetting things. Two January check up appointments have come in and I need an x-ray and blood tests in preparation for those.
I ordered a repeat prescription - a bit early but doing it next week ran the risk of sliding into the holiday close down and then in January I'll probably be living out of 3 bags for life whilst the builders are here. Multiple trips to various bins (have spotted a full bag in their room but didn't feel like venturing across their floor). Cans, paper and green waste have been done this morning + two bucket loads of water from the washing up bowl and a pan that I'd left to soak (bits stuck on the bottom). I need to move to the inside wall of this room as I'm much too cold atm (silly me for washing both the bedspreads but they needed it.
I've received a revised Council Tax bill for grandma's house. We've gone over the twelve month mark so need to pay the double rate empty house premium from December 7th to the end of the year. I'll pay it so it can be filed safely away (not forgotten) and claim back what I can when the house is sold. I have identity paperwork to complete in connection with the sale. Niece's bf phoned me then called to pick up the key I have as he'd also had difficulty getting in. He will buy a new lock and break the door in if necessary and then fit the new locks. He has gained entry and taken photos. He found my niece's email address and I've forwarded the power company email and they (niece and bf) will attach the photos and send it back (he asked could he 'ping' the photos to my phone and I said I wouldn't be able to do anything with them). A bit miffed that my brother and niece are never going to believe that we would have been better off accepting the low offer (sell the house as it was) in February but I'm trying to forget about it, deal with paperwork as it comes in and will receive some money at some point in the future to go in my bungalow account.
I swing between looking at bungalows with lots of outdoor space and worrying that I might have to accept a rabbit hutch with built in care available. Never mind, keep plodding and trying to get more mobility (even a shorter recovery time) and flexibility.
Grateful for niece's bf being useful (and good for her - she's been ill so long, I think she's having another depressive episode). He's also lovely and cheers me up. Having woken early I was starting tto drift off so I've had my shower and am now layered up (long sleeve t-shirt, dress and thick cardi with the velvety bedspread covering me). Handy tip - I used the roll of 'foam' packaging that was protecting the new sofa bed bits and it helped keep me warm.9 -

I had prescriptions to pick up after work but no longer have to pay for those.Bad weather forecast for us in the SW again this weekend
We are away from the coast so only an amber warning here
Hope there is no more flooding. A number of businesses and homes in our little town were badly affected last time. Apparently the last such occurrence was in 1968.
Did a stir fry for dinner after work. I used the last trimmings from a chicken that had already done 3 meals for us, together with random veg from the fridge and freezer. Always yummy, and bonus, OH did all the tedious slicing8 -
NSD #5 today. Reasonably quiet day today with work, washing and a bit of tv this evening. Nephew’s condition getting worse so rather concerned about that atm.Thankful for NHS looking after nephew, a quiet-ish day and empty washing basket again.9

Still really tired, so not much done.
But 1 item out yesterday and 5 magazine left the premises today. (Yay!)
Also - to my immense surprise - both yesterday and today were NSDs! I thought I'd have to spend today because my car was in the garage. They're waiting for a part and, as it's nothing dangerous or damaging, I collected it to use this weekend. So I'm paying for everything when the job's finished.
Away in Edinburgh for the weekend. Going to a pre-Christmas Doo but I've paid for that already and am staying with DD, so I might get away with not spending tomorrow. Probably have to let the moths out on Sunday though!
So that's 9/31 items out and 6/31 NSDs.A budget is like a speed sign - a LIMIT not a TARGET!!

Hello, Turtles. Sorry I am late to the party! Please add me to the challenge @apple_muncher. x
I still need to read and plan for the challenge but I will do this today.
We just got back from our Christmas short break on Thursday. We returned home completely exhausted and loaded with sniffs and sneezes. Just picture over 100 children in a resort for 3 days, starting their mornings with Coco Pops and chocolate spread on everything, followed by hot chocolate with marshmallows, candy canes, and chocolate muffins at lunch, then after dinner candy floss, snowballs, tiramisu, chocolate cake, sticky toffee pudding… accompanied by a sweetie bar… I’m sure you can imagine the scene… Merry Mayhem!
Tomorrow, we’ll be putting up our tree and treating ourselves to our traditional festive feast from Domin-ho-ho-ho’s.
I’ve only managed 1 NSD so far. But the festive drain on the bank account should ease up by Monday!

Yesterday was NSD4 and today is NSD 5. Will have to go shopping tomorrow but it is blowing a hoolie and lashing down here and I really don't need to go out, so I am not going to. Staying warm and toasty at home.I am going to be incredibly tidy and finish a book from my t-b-r pile and then put it in the charity bag. Only 17 more left to go. Progress!DH is doing 'something Mexican' for supper tonight, so I did the washing up after lunch and will leave him to it.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

NSD #5 today. It is very windy and rainy, there are all sorts of problems on the roads with fallen trees and flooding and I am going nowhere! Didn't get much sleep due to the noisy wind outside, and the silly leg pain that the doctor has prescribed big weekly doses of Vit D for. Hope both the wind and the pain soon go away!DD2 and kids popped in on their way to swimming lessons earlier for HM soup and cake.Need to make sausages and mash for dinner later. Struggling with motivation to peel potatoes
More coffee needed first I think!
OH wants to visit friends a few miles away tomorrow morning, but that depends very much on the state of the roads. I also need to buy some birthday cards from somewhere either tomorrow or Monday, as there are 3 family birthdays this month. Must also write and post Christmas cards. Not my favourite job, though we send fewer these days. Young people don't seem to bother with them (don't blame them to be honest) and many of the older generation are no longer with us. I think I have enough left from last year, so probably have no need to buy any.7 -
NSD #2 for me yesterday. Busy taking my Dad to medical appointments and menu planning for him.
Feels odd to plan meals for weight gain after a lifetime of dieting to lose weight myself!MBNA 237.47/13997.47
