I just got this.
Dear Valued Customer,
Thank you for your recent order.
Due to our spectacular 99p bicycle offer we have been absolutely overwhelmed
with response, so much so, that our warehouse packers are having trouble
keeping up !
As a result we are experiencing delays with the processing of orders and
deliveries are taking longer to arrive than the 7 days at first anticipated.
But please don't worry, we have plenty of bicycles and all orders have been
allocated, everyone will receive their bicycle but all outstanding orders
will not be despatched until Monday 14/1/08. Which means if you have not
received your order by the Monday 21st January 2008 - only then please
contact us at sales@unipackuk.com.
I was about to post the very same thing I would suggest anyone not happy with their purchase contact them, after all any serious damage could occur in transit and you have to really give them a chance to sort things.I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0 -
LOL, I just got that email too!!
Thing is, I haven't even ordered one :rotfl:
Maybe they are so bad now that they are giving them away.

For those waiting for Ladies bikes, when asking where my order was this is the email I received and may be of interest:This is because you have also ordered a ladies bike as well and there is a slight delay with these, we will get your order to you ASAP
Kind regards
Jodie

Not quite the same story here. Got the first of two bikes delivered today. Definitely not catalogue returns and definitely signs of use, i.e worn tyres, scatches, labels peeling off, dirty frame, handle bar grips very worn. However, there was nothing missing and an hours clean will bring this up to spec. Oh yes, and brake cables all round.
As a risky purchase for just over £20 each, I'm reasonably happy. The two bikes I bought are for my kids, so will get wrecked anyway. I'll keep you all posted on the second bike.
Would I do this again? Most probably!

Just received one of my bikes. I ordered two. One boys and one girls 24" but only one arrived today. Not perfect, has obviously been ridden but fairly good condition. Dual suspension and dual disc brakes. Hasn't got any calipers on the ends of the wires, shouldn't cost too much to sort out. Happy for the price I paid.
Did get the email many people got saying wouldn't be dispatched till Monday but arrived today anyway.
Will try to post a picture later when hubby is home to help me put it together.0 -
Ok mine's turned up same as the others a pogo stick on wheels with no pedals no chain and the brakes and gears will need attention.
Can get some value out of the tyres and tubes as replacements on a real bike if I decide not to do it up. I could also use the chainset on my 97 Saracen Powertrax (now there's a real bike) which I broke the other day! (cost of new chainset £25-£30). I know what you're wondering if you have such a wonderful bike why do you need another one? Well I live in two places Birmingham and Norfolk. The Saracen is in Norfolk and rather than keep moving things backwards and forwards I thought a little run around for the short hops in the city a good idea. It may do that job really depends on what actually needs to be done to this one to get it serviceable (may be a complaint to trading standards about their "serviceable bike" bit on the website as this is nothing like a serviceable bike!) when I get a good look at it next week.
I thought it was not legal to sell a bike these days without a bell?
if looking for a bargain and value I would look elsewhere cheap bike in poor condition. (even if it was in good condition no more than about £50 - £80 value in this toy).
I paid nothing much really and that's what I got, one to avoid in my view unless you are prepared to spend a bit getting the thing up and running. Personally I think spending £80 - £100 on something with full guarantees is probably better value for money.
+ can someone explain how its £10 more to transport half a bike than a whole one? I think the price is misleading too!I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0
