    Well, my sabre pink ladies bike has just arrived. It does not look very used but a bit gutted as although it looks nice it has ;
    no handle bars
    no chain
    no pedals
bo bits that the pedals attach to
and all the gears and all that stuff.
    no bolts etc
so i have recieved a frame and 2 wheels!!
Any ideas aprox how much this lot will set me back?
  • I think I have been lucky. A lot of people seem to be quite unhappy with what has turned up. My second bike (teen girls) has just arrived and it is in good condition. It is a Sabre, as many of them seem to be. This one is pale blue and also has dual disc/ dual suspension but unlike the other bike I got it is not missing the brake calipers, it seems to be complete. It has an offer display sheet from a large toy store still attached to it so I assume it is ex-display which is probably why it is not missing any parts. There are a few scratches on the frame but these are mostly from the loose front wheel rubbing against it in the box.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that those who are still waiting will receive a bike they are happy with, there are some out there!

    Good luck.
  • Poundland have bike locks and stirrup tyre pumps for £1! The locks are either cable or chain, the cable one looks quite strong.

As I had the same e-mail about the delayed delivery as everyone else and then it was delivered. I replied to the email as below.

    My Reply
    Hi,
Bike was received today and was a pile of rubbish.
So much for it being a catalogue return!!
    Not very Happy.

    Then Received Their reply.

    Dear Adrian,
Sorry to hear you've not had a good experience with us so far - As you can image we are selling thousands of these bikes and have had a lot of satisfied customers.
I'd just like to point out we do state these are 'mail order returns' - also that it's a 'pot luck' offer so whatever comes up next in line would go in the box. Looking at your order the bikes you've receive retails over ?100 "brand new" of course. However as a good will gesture on this occasion what we are willing do is send out the spares parts at half the price plus free of charge carriage.
    Kind Regards

I just got this too except it says "Looking at your order the bikes you've receive retail over £100 "brand new" of course. However as a good will gesture on this occasion what we are willing do is send out the spares parts at half the price plus carriage. " so not so great as handlebars ..how much are they?"

I believe if enough of us mention trading standards to them it might prompt a few refunds.

It seems that they are breaking some rules somewhere - does it not say they are all in a rideable condition. I'd say a bike with no handlebars is unrideable!

The problem is if you send it back it will cost you£10.00 to get a 99p refund.

Well, they have said they are sending a replacement bike as handlebars is not a missing part and have not asked for more money so here's hoping!
edit. Well, i am happy with customer service so far as they are swapping it due to the no handlebars or anything it needs problem.

Well ours turned up this morning. Its a mens Sabre Shox Ignition SS26 mountain bike. We haven't put it together yet but it looks ok. Needs minor attention.
I'd be interested to know how much it normally retails for but have done a search and can't find it (sure it would be more than £26 anyway!!)

Many thanks to the original poster - it's a fantastic bargain!

We got one of these this morning with some bits missing. Did you manage to track down any instructions or any info on them? Thanks!

Why oh why can't they just be up front and honest and save everyone a load of hassle and grief! I sympathise with you.

Because if they were honest would you buy one of these bargain bikes?Noboby would. When it looks to good to be true it generally is!
