New Bikes for £26

What a hilarious thread! I can't believe how many people signed up for this - no wonder its worth the merchants while setting this up! The time and effort finding and fitting the missing parts cannot be worth it whatever the price of the bike was new. The fact is, these were all returns for a reason and could have serious faults - they have obviously not been tested upon return as there are so many parts missing they obviously haven't bothered.
My seat fell off during my cycling proficiency test when I was 8 and have been traumatised ever since!
On a more serious note lets just hope we don't hear of any serious accidents as a results of buying these bikes.0 -
Also meant to asy on another thread you can get a new kids 20" bike from Tesco Direct for £36.99 - far more reliable!

theres no need to mock people, people were led to believe the faults would not be too costly to be rectified, and there are a few people who got absolute bargains from this offer so you can understand why others might feel a bit upset. Be nice, no-one, im sure u included, likes to be ripped off in any which way.

Hi, I have just looged a dispute with paypal and have just sent an e-mail to them as follows.
I would suggest that others log a dispute with paypal as well to stop them selling off there scrap to people like us!!
Dear Jazz,
The bike that I was promised was a catalogue return. There is no way that this is a catalogue return and I would like a full refund including postage charges. I have logged a dispute with pay pal today.
I await your response.
Thanks
Adrian

Tesco are selling a mens mountain bike 26" with 18 gears for £40. We bought two for family run around bikes and they are fine BUT basic bikes. No issues at that price. Maybe a better gamble than this firm.0

I certainly did not mean to mock anyone - we have all fallen for something at somepoint in time - so that was not the intention - apologies for any offence. I just think that you must always look for a catch with offers like these and like most people on the forum they were prepared to give it a go and some did nab a bargain but always brace yourself for the worse... and if you hit lucky - good luck to you.... but only part with the money if you are prepared to lose it in the first place - the rules of gambling I think...
I have got many a bargain through these forums so things are always worth considering but look at the risks aswell....:rolleyes:0 -
I received my two bikes today and they seem to have all the bits needed and as a bonus they have suspension and disk brakes. Really thankful.0

well, our ladies bike arrived this week, its a sabre shimmer and looks brand new and its a full "pogo-stick" suspension, yeah!. It has cardboard packaging all around the frame protecting the paint, has all the bits except one "v" brake caliper on the front forks, and the cable for it is missing, otherwise nothing else is missing and i am convinced its a new bike. It will cost me about £10 or less to get a front brake set and it hasnt got a single scratch or chip on the frame
its not fancy, and have found it in toys r us for £70 (no doubt plus postage)

but i really am pleased enough.
i was secretly hoping for disk brakes though.
sorry for those that didnt get a good deal, but we all knew it was a punt didnt we.0 -

Dear ***********
After looking at the images I agree with you 100% - this bike never should left our building. I can issue a full refund today, as we have exhausted our 99p deal stock.
However if you wish considering taking a new bike, maybe I can do some sort of deal for you. let me know either way.
All the best!
Regards
Jazz
I have, today, received a full refund inc p&p.
