Being able to recognise when things are bubbling up is really important in trying to stop the slide into that deep, black hole. Given everything that's happened in the last few months it's probably not surprising - youve had an awful lot happen that would challenge even the most resilient person. It can all feel totally relentless and uncertainty never helps.

. I'm not sure there's any point in going to the GP, there's nothing they can do, and I don't want/need any medication. It wouldn't change anything that's happening, and if for example, they signed me off or something, then it's not going to take the work away, and I'd go back to an even bigger mess because there's no one to pick up the slack. Plus I'd feel I'd be stitching up my colleagues who are in the exact same position and probably worse in some cases.
I am trying to take on less at work, and slow down a bit. Hopefully that will help. I'm looking forward to the summer holidays when at least the school runs will be taken out of the equation.
I always knew that it would be easier in the long term if I can at least stay where I am until little miss is out of Primary. If I can not eat myself to death in the next couple of years then things should be better! A lottery or PB win of course would help a lot!

Sending you a massive hug Jwil, Please be kind to yourself you have had so much to deal with the last few months. Is there anyway you can get some time for yourself for a few hours a week to do something just for you?

I thought I'd get on with this form for DH this morning, and it won't recognise his claim details. 🙄 Nothing is easy! We've emailed the liquidators to check they have the correct details. I just want him to get his redundancy and we can put all that behind us - it would be one stressor gone! He seems to be doing ok in the new job at the moment after that blip the other week.
We're going to see family this morning, DH will go to the car boot as normal, then I think we are going to go to the seaside. It's always the best medicine. Though I've just downloaded the SAS sewage map, and we might need medicine after going to most of the beaches around here! 😡💩 There are only two out of the many beaches that we usually go to that don't have sewage warnings so hopefully we'll be able to get into one of them, otherwise we won't be able to have a paddle.

Hi @jwil, firstly, please accept my apologies, I had not taken on board the situation with your husbands 'clutter' and it's negative impact.
I was sorry to read that you are feeling out of sorts. Your latest post resonated with me and whilst it is not for everyone, I found meditation helped when I was in a similar position. It's not a quick fix, it takes time and perseverance, but if you haven't already done so, it might be worth looking at He@dspace, C@lm, etc. Some sites incur a cost, but they may also offer a free trial. Others are totally free, i.e. the NHS. It may also be worth checking out if your employer provides a healthcare scheme, and if so, whether it includes free mindfulness meditations, or someone to confidentially chat things through with. I wish you well.

I’m sorry to hear you’re not feeling so great right now 😞 Whenever I feel that way I make a list of what’s bothering me and the things I can do something about and those I can’t. I try to put to one side things outside my control although it’s hard to do so. The things I can change I start to plan how to move forwards.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Thank you. Last time I was referred to counselling from GP, the MH service decided I wasn't bad enough for it, so I'm loathe to try again as I was much worse back then! There probably is counselling through work but I'm not sure about it. I do like to moan on here instead
It's terrible the state of our coasts. We did make it to a sewage free beach and had a nice couple of hours thank you
