Happy Thursday! I'm very glad it's the end of the week. Looking forward to pay day tomorrow as well.
It's been one of those weeks at work. Systems broke so it was all hands on deck to try and help. Of course we have fewer hands now. Despite that, I have managed to catch up on some of my outstanding tasks so am feeling a little bit more in control now. It has really helped that DH has been off so has been able to take over the school run.
I've done pretty well on my challenges - I didn't do anything yesterday as I was feeling quite unwell. I'm better today, but haven't done my walk today. I'll do that tomorrow instead. I have done the housework and the weights challenges though.
Quite impressed with my GP. I submitted an online consult for little miss this morning and within a couple of hours had my answer. No appointment needed. I should get round to booking my HBA1C test now though, I've put it off a couple of months, and whilst I have by no means been perfect, my exercise and diet has been much better than it was in the weeks and months leading up to Christmas.
Little jwil has turned 12 now. I'm not sure how that happened. I remember my panic when I was expecting him!
DH and I both have the day off tomorrow. I can't remember the last time we had a day where it was just the two of us! Not sure what we're up to."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee7 -
PAD (Payment a Day)
Today's PAD - £3
Jan - £129
Feb - £63
Mar - £3"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3 -
What a pitiful PAD total for Feb. Hopefully I can get some extra from surveys or sales this month to make it look a little more healthy!
Happy March and very happy meteorological Spring! It's a glorious (cold) day out there as well which is good as we are off out for the day. Hopefully the weather will continue to improve and get warmer now.
Feb's financials are looking ok. It seemed to be a long month despite it not being a long month. I don't think we did bad considering we had loads of birthdays and our weekend away.
DH and I had a nice 'date' day yesterday. We went out to lunch and then watched the new Bridget Jones film. I genuinely think this is the first time we've had a day out alone together since we had little jwil 😱.
Today is little jwil's birthday day out, so we are going to a NT place this morning, then meeting friends this afternoon and the kids are booked into a VR place for an hour. Hopefully they will enjoy it!
Have a good day everyone."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee8 -

I was asleep by 8.30pm last night, and had a great nights sleep. I woke around 4.30 and was wide awake and contemplating getting up at 5, then the next thing I knew it was 6.30am. I'm feeling much less achy today which is good.
I have been busy this morning. And I have finally applied for a water meter! On the website I showed DH what our new bill was going to be (£1240!!) and what the water co said is the typical usage for a family of 4 (£833) and he finally agreed that we'd have to be using an awful lot more water than typical to lose out. We can go back within 2 years too so I finally convinced him.
He's out there breaking up the first of the sofas so we can take it to the tip. He's now suggested we do paint the wall behind it today, after grumbling when I suggested it last week. As ever I needed to plant the idea and let it fester first.
I'm currently doing some listing for him, so hopefully more stuff will soon be on it's way out!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee7 -
Good luck with the water meter. We moved into a house with one so never had the choice to change back. That new bill is shocking isn't it.
Don't forget Feb is a short month just after Christmas and you had birthdays. Any PAD is a success. And yay to the good night's sleep. Makes all the difference doesn't it.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213
Mortgage Jan 18- 77224 May 25- just under 65k
June 25 Debts in my name only £5170. DH can't keep track...2 -
Plant the seeds and they end up thinking it was their idea.😊
