I feel a bit more lively this morning. It's so nice to see the mornings getting lighter. I'm just getting little miss's packed lunch etc sorted for today, and the plan after dropping her off is to get on with sorting and tidying. DH is off next week still so hopefully he'll get on a bit with his stuff. It's nearly sofa time, so he needs to move his stuff, and I'd really like to paint the wall behind the existing sofas before the new ones arrive, but I doubt he'll be that organised. I'd really like the packaging mountain to reduce somewhat so I hope he comes up with some stuff to sell. I had to move everything yesterday so I could get to the electric meter to do a reading, and it took ages!
Most of all I want to find my prescription! I'm fed up with not having a spare pair of glasses."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee8 -
Hi Jwil - you can ring the optician and ask them to email you the prescription. Or drop in for a print out. Even if you don't want to use them for the next pair of glasses.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I've had a fairly productive day today. I unloaded, sorted through and reorganised my bookcases out the back where I sit and where I work. They look much cleaner and more organised, and I can spend ages just looking at my books and contemplating the world (I'm so sad 😂). Because they were empty I could tuck the rug underneath one, and remove a trapped cable from underneath the other - both jobs that I've been putting off for months! The collapsed shelf collapsed again very shortly after I'd refilled it, but I'd stacked some books higher on the shelf below so it doesn't look as bad as before. New bookcase is needed, but it can wait for a while longer.
Whilst I was doing that I listened to most of my old vinyl from the 90s on the record player I got given for Christmas. I was very pleased to note that it was all working pretty well considering it's not been stored very well over the decades. I've cleared a space for it and the record player so that's all out of the way now.
I've listed 6 items on ebay, and DH has managed to sort out some of the kids toys and prep them for listing, so I'll do those tomorrow. Fingers crossed for some sales which will get rid of some packaging as well!
Little miss enjoyed her day and has come home with a load of crafty makes."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee8 -

Another day sorting at home. I've sold two items I listed yesterday, and I've listed the 8 items that DH prepped of the kids stuff. DH has adjusted several of his listings so hopefully we'll get some sales!
I sorted another area in the middle room and it's looking much better. A few more bits set aside to go.
My GP surgery sent me an offer of a free 12 month access to a health and wellbeing coaching app, so I signed up for it. It can't hurt and might help. I can use it to monitor weight, activity, blood pressure, blood sugars and lots of other things over the year. It's very focussed on making small changes, so suits me in that sense.
I had to set myself some targets relating to activity, so I have a walking one, a strength one and one to do 10 minutes housework every day! If I can keep that up rather than save it all for Friday or the weekend, then I'll make a lot more progress. I'll aim for it to be a little bit of decluttering as well as standard cleaning, so I can keep that momentum going.
I've done a couple of surveys today. I haven't been keeping up with them at all which is showing in my pads! I must try and get back to it. I'm hoping that with DH off this week, I can catch up a bit more at work. I'll do the morning school run so I get my walk in, but he can do the afternoon one which will give me more time."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
