Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes
It was nice to have the weekend away.
Back to work with a bump for the last two days but I'm off again now until Monday which is nice. Then it will be back to normal again. I've very much enjoyed having so much time off recently!
Kids want to go swimming today so we are off to do that in a bit."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee6 -

I will now be Go0gling photo storage boxes. So many photos that need sorting...I'm taking my time sorting mine, proper Marie Kondo style. First sorting into categories, then getting rid of the obvious ones - blurry, not good photo, scenery photos of places I have no idea where they are etc, then on my final swoop, really comparing what's left and just keeping the ones that I love and mean something, so that I only have photos left that bring me joy. I also want to mark them all with people/dates etc so that future me/kids etc will know who is who and where it was.

So true with the photos, I am doing this for Mr Redos grandparents photos and writing the bits he told me about them on the back.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

We've been off visiting family today which has been lovely. I'm absolutely exhausted though, the last couple of days feel absolutely shattered. Little miss is off on a Brownie thing tomorrow, but other than that no real plans for the weekend, I want a quiet day to catch up with things around the house, and get back to sorting/decluttering.
I added up the spends for last weekend and it's not too bad so I'm pleased about that. Considering we ate from the supermarkets mostly and only out a couple of times, food spends are comparable to January so that's good.
I've told little jwil that I am not doing the thing he asked for his birthday. It's the best part of £300 and I don't really have that spare at the moment. I've promised that we will do something similar but on a smaller scale. He seems ok about it, but he doesn't often share his feelings so it's hard to know. I feel bad because he doesn't ask for much and little miss does a lot more in terms of clubs etc (because he doesn't want to do anything) but it's a lot for a couple of hours."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
