Hello. I forgot who asked, but yes Poppet is ok.
So today - another very wet walk with said dog, dry washing put away, dailies done, cut DHs hair (he's over his grumpiness now), hoovered through, made apple crumble, prepped dumplings ready to go in the beef stew DH is making and I've done most of the prep needed for the weekly grandchildren invasion.
Wordle in six, just yellow line on connections, strands completed with four hints.
See you all on the new thread.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Hi all
Feeling a bit out of sorts today, not sure why. I feel a bit funny about Christmas and keep thinking about the year that DS1 got very poorly, which is 5 years ago. It's completely unhelpful dwelling on this.
I did some yoga first thing, have been to Li@l and stocked up, fire is lit and I am going to update my spreadsheets next. I also need to run the cordless vac around, that might be the extent of Flying today.7 -
Busy day yesterday which I hadn't intended, but as we were having the oven for the Saturday night pizza (we know how to live here) I made mince pies, a double batch of oatcakes, a flan case for a quiche later in the week, a batch of flaky pastry because I love sausage rolls and am determined to have some homemade ones (I only managed to snaffle one at the reception for friends and that wasn't anywhere near enough) and roasted some red peppers which I've skinned today.I'm doing 5 minute Flying as and when I can muster the enthusiasm and energy so today I've mopped out the bottom of the fridge, washed a fridge magnet that is dusty which has been annoying me, washed down some paintwork on the front door and a window and spring cleaned the sink.I *will* get this house in order.Better is good enough.7

Meal plans done, uniforms and towels washed, toilet cleaned (twice due to DS2's aim), food shopping done, and breakfast changed to another venue, as apparently they are having their water turned off which is why they had no availability after 9am.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20177 -

SandyShores said:Morning all, thank you for the welcome.
Started yesterday by sorting out the pile of papers that were gathering dust on the bedside table. Ended up with a recycling pile, a selection going into the 'filing drawer' (managed to squish it in), and there's a few bits left needing something doing with.
Started by contacting the docs and I also have a prescription to pick up now, as well as those few bits of paper.
Not much flying yesterday as it was a wfh day but I got out and walked in the drizzle, otherwise I'd feel awful in the evening. MrShores cooked dinner and cleaned as he went, watched the last two episodes of a box set, then I did a final clear down of the kitchen before bedtime.
I know I've got some washing to deal with today, and I want to give both bedside tables a proper wipe down. The sideboard in the hall needs sorting too, and I'd like to hoover the hall, stairs, landing and lounge (and at some point this week defrost the freezer).
ps @Cloth_of_Gold I haven't ever dealt with moths but some advice here re. bringing in some little wasps that eat them: Identifying and Treating Clothes Wasps Parasitic Moths - I had to check that it wasn't April Fools but it looks like a really good solution.
Thanks for that. It's not cheap trying to deal with moths is it? Cheaper than constantly buying nerw clothes though. I liked this from the website you linked to:"If you have Clothes Moth emerging from carpets, avoid hoovering entirely for 7-10 days after introduction of our Moth Egg Killer Sachets and reduce hoovering to a minimum for 3 weeks after application of sachet."
That won't be difficult for me.
