I'm glad things are falling into place regarding the car Round.I was alright on Strands but Wordle and Connections were a bust this morning.Shower room cleaned, two floors and stairs vacummed, random stuff rehomed and things set up for later generally. Dog washed after a muddy walk with the dogwalker, who apologised for letting Wren go in the river with her coat on. I don't care about the coat, that can go in the WM at some point with all the other grim stuff, but despite her rollicking around in the river with her pals she still needed a thorough wash on the path from buckets she was so muddy. I'm so glad she now dunks herself - she wouldn't go near the water when the dogwalker first started taking her out. Half hour's paperwork too.Today is the 'kittens' seventh birthday, so Belovéd opened a tin of sardines and they had half a sardine each to celebrate. Wren was allowed to lick some of the oil out of the tin so she didn't feel left out.It doesn't sound muchbut that took four hours.Better is good enough.8

FF was a lot easier to defrost just leaving it open. Normally I try and scrape the ice off with the plastic thingamajig it came with, warm wet cloths and bowls of hot water. Took longer today but not such a horrible job and its sparkling now 💎💎💎
Obligatory sort out of all the forgotten bits of freezer food, and I cooked up the ends of some redcurrants and blueberries for my porridge. That was a lovely bonus - yum.
Emptied and reloaded the DW tonight, and did a load of washing and put two more away.
Feeling very tired - not sure if that's all the flying, but I'm sure I'll sleep tonight. Bath and book waiting for me. Lots to do tomorrow. It is quite satisfying seeing some clear surfaces

Evening all.
K came this morning, stripped both beds and re-made them with fresh bedding, cleaned the bathroom and ensuite, and dusted and hoovered all through - she is an angel! Meanwhile I did various things that kept me out of her way - sorted the washing and loaded the WM several times; added beer to the Christmas pud mixture, filled the pudding bowls and covered them, then set them boiling two at a time; iced the coffee cake for DS2&co; and did some other little jobs that I can't now recall.
After K had gone, I took Rosie for a walk in brilliant sunshine. It was very icy on the unmade road outside our back gate, but once on the main bridle path it was very clear of snow and yet the verges were still white. Rosie loved it. We only did a short walk, though, to minimise my chances of tripping over. My shoulder is getting much better, and I wouldn't want to add insult to injury.
Once we had got back home safely, DH decided to take me out for lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It is 15 years today, but we're counting it x3, i.e. 45 years - partly because we married when I was 60 and he was 58, and over the years each of us has had one or more serious health scares, so every day extra is a bonus; and partly because we are very different people and have wondered more than once whether it's worth the stress of staying together. But here we are still, so we must be getting something right! DH had a "30% off mains" voucher for a local gastropub that we haven't visited for a couple of years, and we shared a starter and swapped puddings halfway so that we could taste two of the selection on offer, so altogether it was a very MSE outing! We were also pleased to find that they have a new, much better chef - the previous one was somewhat slapdash.
This afternoon II finished off WM/TDx5, made Nigella's everyday chocolate Brownies for DGS3+4, plus another 8 mini fruit cakes for the church fair (only 8 more to go), and boiled the other two puds. DS1 turned up unexpectedly to assemble the new sofa, so I was able to send one of the puds made by DGD1+2 home with him. (It's also his birthday today, but I had delivered his cake and present to him yesterday.)
I've taken a photo of the old sofa and must post the offer on Freecycle this evening, also I need to write a brief reference for a friend. Then I shall be done for the day and looking forward to my comfy bed.
Sleep well everyone, especially round - I hope Kevin is comfortably settled in his new parking space.
