The delivery is done and the men carried it through to the LR for me, in pity of my sling.
I have made butter icing, filled both coffee cakes (birthday cake for DS1 and thank-you-for-having-us cake for DS2 and DDiL2) and put glace icing and decorations on one. Put bowl etc in sink to soak/into DW.
Rosie has gone out with L, her grown-up son and the playful puppyL wanted some big lightbulbs from the Swedish shop; she's now taken them, which leaves more breathing space in the utility.
FU the rest of DH's washing, and he has hopefully PA all of it neatly.
DH is hoovering through downstairs
I deserve a sit-down with a coffee! Time for more parrots, too.7 -
Towels and tea towels were draped on the airer.
P took me to the garage and I've signed up to buy Kevin. But he won't be ready until the end of the week. Hmmmmm. Problem. How to get to work in the meantime? 🤔 I've asked a colleague if there's any possibility of a lift but she doesn't know if she is working from home or not. There's a bus that would get me there but no bus home. So that's no good. Taxis are too expensive plus usually not available at school run times.
So I've rung work and said I may not be in. Not ideal but 🤷♀️.

- Filled my tablets dosette box for the week
- Tidied living room
- Bagged up and frozen the meat bought at the weekend.
- Covered outside tap so it doesn't freeze during the snow snap in the next couple of days.
- Cleaned up cat sick and washed area clean.

Thank you for your comments regarding my health. Had my GP known that a ring-shaped rash was more than likely, in fact highly probable in my case, a post-tick bite and prescribed anti-biotics that would have been that but in those days no-one knew about Lyme Disease. The earliest research was in the 1980s, so I can hardly blame him. At this stage there is nothing that can be done, and I'm not affected by most of the problems other people suffer from, just this tiredness and the leg muscle pain. I can manage those symptoms now, rather than trying to overcome them. As Valli said, someone listenend and believed me and that's helped enormously. She also said that she thinks that in a few years time there will be more sensitive tests which she thinks will lead to further diagnoses of illnesses or conditions that as yet are undetectable, but no less real. I thought that was probably true and very compassionate.Wren trundled in the rain and dried off before she was allowed back in the house. She's always raring to get back in because she gets an after-walk B0ni0. It helps that she wriggles while I'm toweling her. This was a dog who avoided water at all costs, but the dog-walker encourages all her charges to leap into a river after muddy sessions in the woods and she's given her so much confidence that Wren now leads the charge. So she now ploughs through every puddle of standing water on all walks and this morning was drenched from head to foot after a half hour walk in comparatively light drizzle. After a strenuous day yesterday which culminated in a thorough scrubbing of the bathroom after a bath, I took it slightly easier today and just had a few hours in the kithcen prepping tonight's supper, chocolate ganache pots and a double batch of mushorrom stroganoff.I'll crack on with some paperwork tomorrow sitting at my desk I think.Better is good enough.7

Lifts to and (more importantly) from work have been arranged for tomorrow and Wednesday.
I'm told that all calls now go to everyone- which is what management have been after for years. Well I'm not answering calls to Bladder & Bowel Service as I know nothing about it. So they can toot.
In other news I walked 😳 down to the village Mr C00p to buy bits for packed lunches this week.

Glad you sofa arrived @ionafanPerhaps you can enjoy an unscheduled week off work Round? No flying done today, other than a S&S in the kitchen and washing up. I still haven't packaged up the frying pan to send back but I have brought the return label form the printer into the sitting room so that's a tiny bit of progress.
This monring I was late getting going and after I'd got up and washed I accompanied A on his stair walk, which takes ages now. I made lunch and washed up and then A went for a lie down.
Soon it was time to go for my second shingles vaccination and as I was going to walk to the surgery (about half a mile away) and it was cold I took my winter overcoat out of hibernation. It had been in a zipped clothing bag for months, along with a lovely alpaca scarf and another scarf that belonged to my friend who died. I nervously examined everything for moth holes but could see none. I did notive a few little bits of what look like white slime here and there (I also recently saw some on a jumper that had spent the summer in a draw). Does anyone know what it could be? I'm worried it's sometihng to do with the moths. Does dry cleaning kill any larvae that mgiht be in the clothes? It's five and a half hours since I had my vaccination and so far no ill effects but last time it was about 6 or 7 hours after I'd had it that I started to feel ropey and 8 or 9 hours before I started to feel really bad so there's still time.A just came though after having a post-supper nap and said he was aching virtually everyhwhere. He then remembered that he hadn't taken any pain killers today day which is probably part of the problem, although he is having more pain generally. Our friend W, who lives near Guidlford, rang earlier and we discussed Christmas. He had invited us to go to him but we hadn't made a final decision. Our friend J, whose father died earlier this year, is coming to London at Christmas and we invited her to spend the day with us (at W's if we go there). As much as it would be nice not to have to do any cooking or washing up on Christmas Day, we have decided to stay here. Partly becasue W told us that he has invited 5 other people so with him and us and J it would be 9, which is too many for him really. It's probably for the best as who knows if on the day A will be up to travelling and spening the day away from home.Anyway, I've rabbited on long enough - I'll go and do the washing up now.8 -

I just had a text from my brother in East Yorks and he said it's snowing there. My cousin near Ilkely just sent me a photo taken 2 hours ago when it was a light dusting. She's going to a Christmas market in York tomorrow and said it will be very festive. We've just got rain.

Morning all, thank you for the welcome.
Started yesterday by sorting out the pile of papers that were gathering dust on the bedside table. Ended up with a recycling pile, a selection going into the 'filing drawer' (managed to squish it in), and there's a few bits left needing something doing with.
Started by contacting the docs and I also have a prescription to pick up now, as well as those few bits of paper.
Not much flying yesterday as it was a wfh day but I got out and walked in the drizzle, otherwise I'd feel awful in the evening. MrShores cooked dinner and cleaned as he went, watched the last two episodes of a box set, then I did a final clear down of the kitchen before bedtime.
I know I've got some washing to deal with today, and I want to give both bedside tables a proper wipe down. The sideboard in the hall needs sorting too, and I'd like to hoover the hall, stairs, landing and lounge (and at some point this week defrost the freezer).
ps @Cloth_of_Gold I haven't ever dealt with moths but some advice here re. bringing in some little wasps that eat them: Identifying and Treating Clothes Wasps Parasitic Moths - I had to check that it wasn't April Fools but it looks like a really good solution."Think of many things, do one"

Morning all. Thanks for this week's list. Welcome back returners.
CoG - putting items in the freezer for a day should kill any eggs etc.
It snowed here from nine pm to four this morning. There's about an inch that's settled but DH said the roads were clear on his way to work. Expecting a sunny day so it should all be gone later.
Planning to fly this morning before dog walk and exercise class later. Wordle in five.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.6
