Homebase Kitchen Order

I also purchased a kitchen using finance and was just waiting for delivery (while the room was plastered etc). I've received the AO email saying they can't deliver.
Called homebase customer services and they say as far as they're concerned everything should be delivered. They say they're on talks with AO to try and get deliveries back on track.
I've also checked and novuna finance is covered by s75.
I've considered cancelling. As I haven't taken delivery this seems an option but the customer services say I'd have to go in store to do it, and I'm working now until Monday. I'm hoping for some clarity by then but cancelling feels safest option maybe?0 -
Cancelling would be a big mistake.
That would be you breeching the contract.
You are covered via the finance. Just sit it out for now & don't panic.Life in the slow lane1 -
Hi everyone. We've published a news story on Homebase going into administration with info about your installation and refund rights:

One of the reasons I chose Homebase was the 20 year guarantee on the kitchen - how would I stand with that if my kitchen order was delivered?0

where do I go now ??
We were meant to receive our AO goods today and we got the same message yesterday. When we contacted AO they told us that they weren’t fulfilling any Homebase orders. We are meant to receive our kitchen on Monday, Homebase said it’s going ahead but the delivery company XPO say they aren’t delivering anything. To be honest we are very wary of having a kitchen without the guarantee that was meant to come with the it anymore as the company won’t be around to claim on it if we need to.Plus we find ourselves in a position to need to find an extra £1200 to cover the appliances since AO will not deliver them.0 -
MarcoDG said:My situation is similar in terms of kitchen order placed in October to be delivered in January (because of the limited availability for the company supposed to fit the kitchen) I paid via a finance for £10,300 with Novuna, that I assume have been paid in full to Homebase at the moment of my order. Do I have any way to protect my money?I would phone Novuna and check.0

I tried calling novuna today but there was a 90min wait to be answered, which exceeded the time I had over lunch with work.
I have dug out my contract and cancellation is definitely allowed, there were various reasons including "a change in the product or terms." I would imagine loosing a 20 year guarantee would be included in a "change to the terms." Another potential reason was "there is a risk products may be delayed due to events outside our control."
Anyway I e-mailed the kitchen sales person to see what they say about it all. The problem is my design needed tweaking, a wall was coming down and we needed to change a few things after it did.when we ordered it was a "best guess" but she said not to worry about making changes after. This was apparently all fine, but now I imagine it's not, which is why I'm considering cancelling if I can. No point having a kitchen I can't fit in the room.
