Santander £150 switch offer 04/11/2024

If I get my partner to open and switch an account of his, how long would I need to wait before switching DDs from my account and make it a joint account? I switched to Santander in Oct 2021 looking at my records so I won't qualify for the £150. Thing is, I would like to use the Edge for the cashback on our household bills which are all in my name currently but don't want to stop him getting the switch incentive.

From reading this thread it seems you can have more than one account with Santander. Can you see them all in the app? I like my 123lite and want to keep it, but it looks like I could still get this switch offer by opening a different account?

As long as you don't try to qualify for the incentive on a joint account you will be safe. If you're looking to turn his sole account into a joint one, then the safest bet would be to wait until they have been paid their sole account incentive before changing it to a joint account.

Yes. You can hold multiple accounts with Santander and they will all appear in your online banking together. You can open a second current account (one of the types that qualifies for the switch since 123 doesn't appear to) and qualify for the incentive by switching into that one instead.

Yep. I have a long standing joint Edge plus with my wife and we both opened an Everyday (via Topcashback and got £20) then did the switch and got the £150.

I applied  for a basic santander account Sunday evening and requested  a switch from my old account  to santander.
Received  a few emails saying the process started.
Will santander  still honour  the switch incentive/bonus even if they pull the offer tomorrow evening,
Weds 5th Feb.?

Do you mean their Everyday current account? Because their basic current account isn't eligible for the switch offer as far as I can see.

But otherwise if the offer is live when you applied then I'd be surprised if they didn't honour it. Just make sure you meet all of the other terms of the offer within the required timeframes.

I got the switch offer for switching into an Everyday.

Yes, sorry, their Everyday account l meant.
Just had another email an hour or so ago, and the switch  should be completed  by 11th Feb.

Could anyone please let me know if Santander advises the newly opened account details after current account application and request to switch from another bank or just an application reference number with what to expect next? Many thanks.
