If you need someone to bounce ideas of/vent to, feel free. If the unions are involved, anything like the ones I've worked with in the past, they'll make sure the process is strung out for as long as possible. It can make it stressful, but it also means everyone is employed for as long as possible. I've also found that HR aren't very good at making sure they've checked individual contracts for non-standard clauses… or older Ts & Cs… obviously they need to be careful that there's no hint of discrimination in your case, assuming they've remembered :)

..and in today's 'the world is a crazy place update'…
1) A black cab driver refused to assist me with the door, despite my white symbol cane, because he saw me walk to the taxi rank unaided! I told him loudly what I thought, refused to get into his vehicle and pointed out there is nothing wrong with my feet! - the SWR staff member near me was shocked by his behaviour - and I was so upset I forgot to take a picture of either his liscense or his plates!
2) The estate agent has sent me a revised terms of business that is at best 17 years old, and quotes obsolete legislation in the documnent, there are also contradicting clauses and parity issues! What kind of an idiot do they take me for? The cover e-mail also refers to a conversation we've never had and omits the answers to questions that have been asked more than once (in writing). I'm happily letting them dig themselves their own grave.
3) My dear Mom across the pond has decided to write me with all the things I've supposedly done to wrong her since the start of pandemic. I told her to pack it in and book a time in August if she wished to discuss as I don't currently have the time or the headspace for her grievances. As I've never said anything like this to her in my entire life she was shocked and has gone quiet. Suprisingly I'm feeling unapologetic! Good Lord rt - how on earth do you manage to keep going?
Interesting thought on the cognitive change/decline - I was talking to a more senior member of the Fam. the other day. They'd always been forthright, but had mellowed as time, age and retirement moved on. They said two things - in and of themselves of little consequence - but it immediately made me wonder if they are showing signs of cognitive decline, as the comments were unnecessary and 'out of kilter' with the rest of the conversation.
Hoping that some sort of intervention occurs and all the folk causing you angst are magically transformed into compliant, supportive and kind human beings.

haha - no it's typical of my mom - she just picked the wrong day/time to push my buttons - love her dearly but she's been guilt tripping me since May 2006 when I first moved to the UK.
