Phew - it's mighty warm today - sticky and muggy - we have the drapes shut and the north facing windows open - 2 fans and the dyson going - yikes! - normally I value my wfh Friday's but today I think the trek would have been worth the A/C!!!

I've taped mylar sheets over my west-facing windows and some of the south-facing ones too. As well as having the blinds down, curtains shut, and sheets up at some windows! I'm just about managing to keep the temperature reasonable. And it's not dark - but the glare/heat isn't making it through.
There are some windows I can't get the mylar sheets on that need shading, so I'm going to try to locate the greenhouse shade paint and see whether that's still viable.

We have a small house so…
3 north facing appatures - a large downstairs window, a door with a window and an smaller upstairs window - windows have blinds and drapes - door has a drape3 south facing windows - two upstairs and one downstairs
nothing facing east - but the easterly sun hits our neighbours conservatory wall and turns my patio into a sauna by 11am - the plants love it but me not so much!
two west facing windows and one west facing door - those have blinds and the door has a curtain - but we keep that door open for most of the day for fresh air!

Well folks - I have a funny for you - our notorious Mr PG next door was overheard having a fit about my hosepipe usage. I thought to myself, try it on honey, we are an exempt household and I have a letter to prove it! Then I thought to myself, the only way he would know if he was at an upstairs window looking directly into my otherwise sheltered patio area - as that is where the potted everything is! So tracking list has been updated and I've been scouting out retractable awnings to attach to the side of the house for privacy. OH also told me he'd heard him earlier in the evening having a rant threatening to cut down one of my trees and pile it in front of my door. He is such a 💩 turd!

I got my own back so to speak yesterday morning. Now that OH is unable to drop me to the train station it appears that my taxi arrives at the same time Mr PG has to go to work.
On Monday I went out early, then came back into the house as I'd forgotten an item, and heard their door slam - when I went out they were in their car having a right arguement & my taxi had pulled up at the same time but in no way blocked them in so I thought nothing of it.
Then the plant drama happened Monday evening.
Yesterday morning, I went and stood on my bottom step & the taxi pulled up. MrPG came storming out and went to his car, slamming his front door, stomping down the stairs, slammed his car door and rolled down his window. I realized the taxi driver had infact got his nose over blocking their drive, but as he's a guy I know - I just asked him to reverse a bit and told him that my neighbour was not a nice human being and was looking for any excuse to have a go and make my life miserable. Should have see the look of shock on MrPG's face. Guess he's never been called out in public before! My lovely cabbie obliged, had a right laugh and we chatted the whole way to the station - he's promised that next time he comes to get me he'll make a production of it and have a few choice words with the neighbour if he acts up.
