Progress is...

So for the first time in forever, I feel halfway normal - lots of weight lifted from my shoulders (or delayed) & progress made with what remains.

I have a long weekend - and beleive me it is much needed! but it is a beautiful day & I slept well for once, so the weekend seems like it may be joyful!

As always a bit of a list…

Financial…
1) still in comparison mode for house insurance - 2 weeks left to settle on something
2) book a boiler service - still overdue, still not booked
3) I was paid yesterday so some juggling of pots needs to happen and books balanced - another major AVC has gone out so we are squeaky but most pots are already topped up for this month & I'm budgeting for September - I will however move money nominally from savings to spending so that in my head we are budgeted up until the end of October

Garden…
1) Have started pruning to reclaim a path - the rambling rose and blackberry patch have exploded in the heat and are taking over more than their fair share
2) patio pots still looking lush and now have pruned so has had a refresh
3) repot baby trees - lovely green thumbed neighbour has told me to hold off for a month
4) call in pest control - may hold off - looks like the neighbours have put out a poison bait box (while still having a peanut feeder - lol)

Household…
1) put together new dining chairs - still needs doing
2) put totogether birthday arbour - on hold due to OH's medical
3) finish stocking first aid kit for car - waiting on the final bits being

Now the reason all of that has not made progress, but also the reason I'm not so overwhelmed…
1) estate agent has show their stripes - upon probing, they were unable to regularize their paperwork to our satisfaction and were also unable to answer marketing question, got twitchy and pulled out - were promtly sent a DSAR - clock is ticking - they have 30 days to provide the requested documents - it's no wonder the conveyancer pulled out and the buyer got cold feet!
2) have contacted OH's lawyer & updated her and told her to apply to the courts in relation to the above (and a few other points) - assets are being liquidized as per a court order that is not being followed by the other party - time to rejig that arrangement
3) …and best of all lovely Wills lawyer has inserted clause and reissued both our wills with assorted extra paperwork so all OH's shares in assets are protected

I also now find myself with an enourmous amount of headspace to deal with all things redundancy/grievance related!

So today there is breathing room & head space to pack up a 'welcome' to the world gift for new neice! - am now off for a walk to town to pick up a mailing box and some pretty tissue paper.

Good morning Ladies & Gent - Just thinking about an afternoon Dim-Sum in Chinatown in the big smoke. Can I put forward Saturday the 5th or 12th September? I was originally thinking the last Saturday in August, but with school holidays and the long weekend, it will be chaos in the city!

There are quite a few hand's up in my PM's and sadly a couple of regrets, but I'd love it if we can firm up date and then do another shout out for numbers! I'll give it until next Saturday for votes on date - I'd suggest 2pm which gives us all plenty of time to travel in and also get home!

I'm looking at Joy King Lau for authenticity or Dumplings Legend for the fun factor.

oooooooo - on an unrelated note I've just discovered how to turn N3ctar points into Waitflower vouchers. N3ctar converts to Ub3r so next time I order a meal deal and half price fruit and veg from Waitflower via Ub3r I have 20 pounds to go towards it!
