  •  Morning. I’ve weighed in and gained 1lb. No surprise after the weekend festivities really. Enjoyed all of it and have no regrets so we go again!
off to do a shop this morning and although we are having friends over for dinner this weekend,I am going to be on plan. I shall be making a dessert but it is going to be a berry filled pavlova that I will serve with yog sweetened with custard powder and vanilla. We’ve had it before and I know it’s good and there is enough sugar in the pavlova that you don’t notice the yogurty tartness and the tbsp of custard powder thickens it up nicely.
Right, off to town. Will have a good mooch about and get some steps in.

Morning all, I'm getting fed up with this grey miserable weather and doesn't look as though we're getting any sun any time soon!  As expected washing didn't dry yesterday and hasn't dried properly on the airer overnight so think it'll have to stay there and hopefully be dry by tomorrow morning as really want to get the motorhome bedding washed and the bed remade for going away next weekend.

A lb gain after a good weekend festivities isn't too bad at all @Matron_Midge and I'm sure you'll soon shift that.  Your dessert for tonight sounds good and very SW friendly.

You had some great bargains at the Company shop @bubbs as usual.  Wish we had one near where I live but we don't have any decent places for cheap food - Aldi's the only cheapish place around here.  Wish we had a Farmfoods as they often have bargains on tinned foods like tomatoes and beans.

Hope WI went well this morning @maman and that you're still in target but don't think you'll have a problem really.

    Today's plan:

    B - toasted cheese sandwich, pickled onions - HEA2; HEB; S
L - chicken pasta bake (ready meal so no idea of syns but as I'm way over this week anyway not too bothered!)
    D - cottage pie, veg - P; S; F

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
Syns - however many there are in the ready meal!

    Have a good day everyone.

@bubbs - we're going to Canterbury again next weekend to see the Christmas lights and visit the Christmas markets.  There's actually going to be a Christmas market in the Cathedral grounds which will be the first time since pre Covid - up until that time it was every year for 600 years so looking forward to that.

Just a pound gain is an excellent result @Matron_Midge, especially as you enjoyed it all. 👍

You'll be fine having people for dinner as you're choosing the menu. I like the sound of the pavlova. My go to is a deconstructed Eton Mess where I put the berries, meringues and a choice of cream or yogurt out and let people build their own.

I think @Coxy11 has a lot on her plate (both metaphorically and probably literally) at the moment @bubbs because she's moving house and jobs and other stuff going on. I'm sure she'll be back though.

The Winchester Christmas Market is in the Cathedral Close too @joedenise and that's pretty good. The local one is mostly food stalls, a bit of tat and some open air bars.

WI today went very well. I lost 1lb but the best news is that I'm now only half a pound over the bottom end of target range. I've not been this low for years. That gives me 5.5 lbs to play with for the next few weeks. 😁 Next WI will be just after New Year. I'm going to to do 'good when I can' so may WI sooner to push the next time further into January IYSWIM. 🤔

Lunch out tomorrow and wine syns tonight, because I can 🤣

Forgot to post my menu. It's been a madly busy day. When I got home this evening, having decided to do the food shop and then got stuck in gridlocked traffic DH offered a fish supper but I stayed on plan. 😇

    Today's plan -
B- HEB Puffed Wheat, HEA milk
    L- JP (F), cottage cheese (P), salad (S)
    D- sausage casserole with pasta (P, F, S)
Syns - sausages 1.5, wine syns (but these will be reined back by driving on Saturday evening)

Thanks @beanielou. I'm delighted with the result. Being with such limited cooking facilities for weeks, I'm so pleased I've managed to stay on plan. Being mse has saved me £££s instead of having take outs. 😁

Well done @maman - brilliant being right down into the bottom of target range!  I completely understand what you're saying about weighing a bit earlier - a couple of weeks before Christmas would be perfect as would give you another 8 weeks to shift the Christmas/New Year gains!  Having said that having 5.5lb to play with I doubt you'd have no problems with leaving WI until you needed to go!  Also well done on sticking to plan all the time you've been without your cooking facilities.  It's not easy when you're so limited with just a microwave and slow cooker.

Looking forward to the Christmas market but we won't make the lights switch on Friday night as DH got a call from the Drs surgery and he has an assessment with someone about his shoulder - he's unable to lift it shoulder height either out to the side or in front, also can only just get it behind his back.  I suspect he'll need an injection in it - I had to have one for the same problem a few years ago after physio didn't really help.

    Today's plan:

    B - scrambled eggs and spinach on toast - HEB; P; S
    L - brunch hash - P; S; F
    D - butter chicken, rice, onion bhajis, mango chutney - P; S; F; 5.5

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
    Syns - butter 2.5; chutney 1; 2 bhajis 2; couple G&Ts 6

    Have a good day everyone.

PS.  Forgot to say I didn't put on as much as I expected - just 0.4lb so I'm pleased with that.
