@Sue-UU - wow!  How wonderful for your granddaughter.  That's VERY exciting indeed.  I hope she has lots of fun with the cafe - and plenty of wonderful customers.

Payday was yesterday, so I was able to pot just over £100, then another £29 from TopCashback.  I can sniff the end of SPC 18... bring on 23rd October!

That's going to make such a difference to your DGD's life @Sue-UU. A fabulous opportunity for her to do something she loves. Wishing her every success in her new venture. Well done to your other DGC too. As we spend most of our lives working, it's so important to do something you enjoy 😍

The cafe opportunity sounds great fun Sue. Well done the Church too for providing an affordable opportunity to get things moving.
Randomly Sue,  a coach load of Verwood Runners were up from your old stomping ground yesterday to do a local Park Run up here.
Hope every is potting as best they can

Thank you all for the well wishes!

We got married in Lochcarron on the west coast, my DH is Scottish, born on Islay, and we had already booked a holiday in Lochcarron so thought we'd get married while we were there, just shy of our 10 year anniversary.

I'm excited for Declaration Day, do we start next year's SPC immediately afterwards?

    I know Lochcarron @JynErso
A beautiful place. My dad was from a bit further up the coast. I bet your wedding was something special  :)

  • @Sue-UU, how exciting for your granddaughter! I hope it all goes well for her and I would imagine working nights with 3 children can be exhausting, those hours will allow for more family time :)
Thanks for the well wishes for hubby. He's still getting better and we are just taking it one step at a time really. He's hoping to start working from home for a bit soon.

Hello SPCers! I hope you've all enjoyed a very good weekend, Monday too. Enjoy the week ahead.
To all those of you who are poorly or low in any way, take very great care and get well soon. Very best wishes from us all here on SPC 3

Thanks so very much Vicky, we're all so very excited for her. She can't wait to get started as her most favoured hobby is cake making; she made 1 ready for our 5 year old grandson's birthday was on Friday and their elder son's and younger daughter' birthdays were both yesterday, as always they were yesterday, she'd made them all beautifully, iced them too!

I used to make and ice cakes when I was younger DD too but essential tremor (essential my foot!) sadly put paid to that. With our DD she developed an awful tremor due to her MS. Of late if she does her best to hold a drink to her mouth, instead of her hands shaking her head shakes terribly. All to do with the MS as well, poor darling.

Excellent potting Vicky, though I've never heard of anyone sniffing out the end of a challenge, trust it to be you?! 😂

Great work with your extra £2 in the pot!!

Oh it most certainly will Siju, She'll be so very happy and have time with her husband and the 3 children as well as doing something she dearly loves. She was so thrilled as soon as she realised she'd got it, it has meant the world to her...and no more working at nights in order to do the job she loves! 🥰 Sadly, the only thing I got wrong was that the Church takes £40 per day, not per week, but as the other woman pays the same the cafe must still be making a good profit, plus she employs 2 other girls!

I quite agree that spending most of our lives working, is so important  to be as happy as we possibly can.
I've passed on your wishes in her new venture. Very many thanks Siju. ❤️.

Thank you so very much indeed Ant!
I totally agree, hard work, but...at the right time of day, and she'll reap so very much happiness! 😀
The Church takes £40 per day - not week, my mistake on the previous page.

Verwood certainly isn't far from Ringwood at all, much larger now, though isn't everywhere also?! 1 of T's elder sisters used to live there with her husband (both sadly passed on no) and 2 sons, just the younger son lives there with his wife and children. I had no idea they had a running club.

Many congratulations JynErso! though you've been together a fair time as it is.
Hubby & I have been to Lochcarron several times, a beautiful ar
The 23rd is declaration day and SPC 19 starts on the 24th! 😀
You've said in your post exactly how our granddaughter's life will be and she's so looking forward to it. She thinks the world of her family and this venture will enable her to spend so much time with them!
The only thing I got wrong was that the Church charge £40 per day - not per week, but the other lady has paid that much too and still paid her expenses and got profits as well as having 2 members of staff!! 😱

I'm so delighted that your hubby is slowly getting better and even managing to look ahead to being able to work from home in time! Excellent news LMD! 😍

    Have a great week ahead.

@Sue-UU - goodness.  I didn't realise that MS could be so varied.  A friend seems to be trying to be "normal", but needs to accept that not everything can be. xx

And yes, the sniffing of the end of the challenge is a skill I have honed over the years!

I have just potted another £10.  I ducked out of going to my book club, so the money I would have spent on a couple of drinks and a packet of crisps has been potted.

Hello SPCers! I hope you've all enjoyed a very good weekend.

No Vicky, sadly there's no such thing as normal when it comes to MS, though I don't blame her for trying to live as though she is, it takes courage. Our DD has Tysabri fusions every month, there's nothing any stronger than that. Itat least helps with the pains in her legs, she has a mobile buggy to help, but tries and only to use it when she has to.

It's quite possible that both their DD's might also have it further down the track, but apparently not their 4 sons. She has MRIs every few months and sees her neurologist every 6 months.

I'd advise your friend to try to be as normal as possible for as long as possible and live life as best she can. Does her Dr give her vitamin D? It's vital to all sufferers of MS.

Well done with skipping the book club and saving the money instead! Great work in squirreling the £10! 😘
Keeping sniffing out declaration days. 😂.

£20 transferred from our account to our SPC account.

Have a GREAT WEEKEND week ahead folks.
