Hmm I wonder do you mean Porlock rather than Pollock Sue ?

I had family in Porlock and used to take my uncles down to visit their cousin there, where they would recount stories of the old days they spent together up in the Scottish Highlands.

Even if there is an area called Pollock as well as Porlock you’ve inadvertently  brought back memories of some lovely people to me. Sadly all of them ‘crossed out’ in the address book now.

    Welcome to our new members.

My potting is all virtual these days, sadly. I do use cash, but a working cash point in this town is almost as rare as rocking horse p*o, so one must not pot too readily with the readies.

However, I have potted £6.60 over the last few days. £6.50 because I resisted the lure of an M&S salad for lunch and 10p because I made a 10p profit on a sale.

I’m a mix of cash and virtual @Vicky
I find the mystery of not knowing how much cash I’ve potted quite exciting, but the modern world does seem to require quite a lot of virtual potting to be made. We’re down to 3 cash machines in my town but we’re losing another one next year.

Love the pot @Nintud, absolutely perfect 🥰

I really hope everyone has been reconnected now, it was a miserable 4 days, however I now find myself forgetting to turn the lights on and struggling to do things in the dark 😅

What lovely memories @AntoMac, it's so good when we can remember those no longer with us with such affection 💕
Yes they are great memories @siju
Conversations weren’t always easy to follow as everyone seemed to have a Gaelic nickname rather than be known by their real name!! What an insight into a completely different long gone way of life.

Glad you have all your power back at last. Whenever we lose power I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve thought “I’ll just make a cup of tea” before I realise I can’t!

Added a one pound coin today, plus I have some train delay compensation to go into the pot. Would rather the trains actually ran on time but the extra few pounds for the pot are still welcome

Hi Potters, I hope you all enjoyed a very happy weekend! Enjoy Tuesday and the rest of the week.

Oh Nantud, it's just so exquisite! 😯 I bet you were really thrilled on finding that, especially in a charity shop. It really is gorgeous! 😄

Ah but think on Ant, your DD might just get wed one day, and possibly have a little one. Meanwhile, you can have a good look round charity shops to see what you can find in the way of 'Gorgeous Grandpa's savings pot' 💖

Oh your heart goes out to all those without heat, especially the elderly who are just over that threshold. That was absolutely wicked to have taken it away from them, even more so if they live alone and have worked all their lives!! 😡
As you know, I don't like bringing politics on to the thread, but forgive me as this really makes me livid, especially for those who live alone!!
The same with the homeless huddled in shop doorways🥶 BTW, they're closing Y stroke unit now, so goodness only knows what that means for folk, and the PM refuses to intervene!! 😡

Excellent for all the money you've potted recently! 😀 BTW, I said Pollock Ant? They're fish aren't they! Twit, me...not you. I really do need to check my writing in future. No, there's no such place as Pollock, at least not as far as I know.🤔
Still, at least my mistake brought you back some happy memories, especially with Scotland being involved. A wonderful place. 🤗
Oh dear, I sincerely hope all those in the Porlock area have at last been reconnected by now, poor folk.

Oh Vicky, I've never heard of the term 'rocking horse p*o', but T & I had such a laugh about it when I read it out, or tried to! 😂😂 I giggled as I was trying to get the phrase out... only for him to say "sorry what was that, I was reading this?" 😤
Ahh so that's the second time you've resisted the salad, excellent!! 👏👏 Keep the resistance up and you'll save yourself a fortune!

I save these days by transferring money from our account to the SPC account. So many places here don't use cash since COVID which is such a pain!

Another £1 coin can't be bad Ant!

Transferred £20 from our account to the SPC account

Wishing you all a very good week!

    Sue

Declaration Day for SPC 0025 is October 23rd.............BEFORE --- BUT NO LATER, please!

  • I've cashed £32.60 from Prolific today and sent it to the sealed pot - not too shabby!  Many thanks to AntoMac for reminding me about Prolific studies!
