@MrsShazbat it must be a university thing as we have been given 2 extra days on the 23/4 December so now I finish on the 20th.  Nice timing really as that’s when my son’s school finishes so I won’t have to work when he’s off.  I managed to pot a solitary 20p into my piggy bank 🐖

Hello Vicky, good for you with your £10!
What a weekend and what a storm! Thank goodness Storm Darragh has long since blown out to sea! 👋 It definitely left its mar here on land though.

I really do hope Mrs Mac didn't venture to Newcastle Ant!! What a thought!! Brilliant potting with the £8!!

I thought about you and Ant a lot over the weekend Siju with that horrendous Storm Darragh, as far as I know you were both closest, though it wanted to hug us all here in S Somerset and N Devon and many other areas too!

What a time for your DD to have complications with her baby, their roof too! Our DYGD had another on the way as well. D'you remember all the problems they had with their DD last December? She was swallowing all the fluid from her stomach which mostly went into her lungs. As a result she suffers terribly with awful coughs and needs a nebuliser, poor little darling. In the end she had to have a Caesarian and they told her to wait a year before having another, but she's pregnant again and the little treasure is due in March!! Clearly, advice goes out of the window when in the throws of passion! 😱 She says he has to have the snip, he says she needs to be steralised at the same time as giving birth, he'll be lucky! He'll be lucky, I had to wait a year after our DS, but was desperate due to the seizures which wre so many throughout the pregnancies.

That's a fair time to have to go without power! Fingers 🤞 you have it back on now, thank goodness you have 4G. Littlewonder you're in need of another holiday!
Well done with the potted £5!

Excellent work with the Plum and purse money MrsShazbat!!
A brilliant amount of time of work for both you and hubby, enjoy yourselves!

A great amount of time off for you with your son too Hetty! 😄 How is he getting on now he's moved up to the big school?
Well done with the 2p potted!!
Wishing you all a wonderful week!

Wishing you all a very good week, but do take great care!

Morning, just back from visiting the In laws and FIL turned out to have squirrelled away £40 in £2 coins! Traded up with him sharpish and put them in the pot. He also had a tub FULL of coins, so guess who got to count it all, bag it up and change it with him?
Paid in all the full bags and potted the extras which was about another £10ish worth, so pots are starting to feel nice and heavy!

Well our electricity was finally reconnected 4 days after the storm and unfortunately we are still without heating and hot water as our boiler control panel blew up. The engineer is coming today, so hopefully we will be fully restored tonight. Can't wait for a long hot shower! DH is very resourceful and rigged up a new garden sprayer with a shower hose. We fill it with warm water (boiling the kettle) and one of us stands outside the shower and pumps the sprayer while the other showers. It's a bit primitive and the bathroom is freezing, but at least you feel clean.

Lovely news about your DGD Sue-UU, although it may have been better to wait a little longer. I assume she'll be consultant led through this pregnancy? It'll be a lot of work for her with 2 babies. Our DD has an appointment today with the foetal medicine doctor (whatever that is, I don't know!) and another scan next week. Fingers crossed, baby has put on some weight.

Couple of pennies in the pot yesterday. Stay warm folks 🥶

For all those either ill or feeling down in any way, get well soon and best wishes from us

Afternoon madlyn, very well done with the £6 potted!!

Afternoon LMD, you've done excellently with your dice rolls again, brilliant work!! 😄

Afternoon Jakes-mum, I hope you enjoyed your stay at your In-laws, and I know jolly well you'll have enjoyed swapping coins with your F-i-l. No wonder your pot feels heavy.

Ah thank goodness you're connected after 4 long days Siju, we have folk in the Pollock area of Somerset who are STILL without power!! 😱 Not an easy place to get to, but I'd have thought someone would have been there long before now.
Ooh a shower is something you really miss, but like your hubby rigged up, we had one similar to that for camping at one of the places that didn't have any facilities. As you say, a bit primitive, but at least it does the job, we were just so lucky it was summer, unlike yourselves. If hubby thinks you're missing for a good while he'll soon realise why.

Yes, DGD will be consultant let. Like you, I've no idea what FM doctor means. Oh I do hope baby has put on weight.
Good for you with your pennies.
Ooh it's so cold here, but set to get warmer for the weekend! Let's hope those without power very soon have it.

    Have a WONDERFUL WEEKEND folks!

    Nice pot @Nintud
I will NEVER be glamorous or indeed a gran, so I’ll be sticking to me daughter’s old money box and a random overflow pot or two.

I really feel for anyone who has been without heat/power recently.  Life years ago without central heating must have been pretty hard to put it mildly!

I’m still potting away and have been lucky to have had a decent amount of coins for my pot recently.
