wendyjames said:I'm curious if anybody else has an issue with failing to get the Sunday free electricity due to 'smart meter glitches'? Monday through to Friday, no data is available on the Energy Hub. At the weekend I get a text to say that we haven't earnt anything due to a glitch, and then on Monday all the data updates for the previous week. I'm not too fussed, as we were a bit bored of sitting in the dark and waiting until after 7pm to eat but it just seemed a bit of a coincidence that they can repeatedly receive the data only after the calculation deadline.
Once you receive the data, is it detailed? Perhaps they give you an average over several days which would work for your bill but not for the challenge.
Other than that, I can't comment on any smart meter glitches because ours is working fine but I can tell you that we've not changed our weekday peak time habits at all and so far we've had 2 x 4hr, 1 x 8hr and 1 x 12hr of free electricity so for anyone who's trying to shift their energy usage during peak times and resorting to "sitting in the dark and waiting until after 7pm to eat" like this poster but still not getting anywhere, try NOT changing your habits at all. You might find you have better results.0 -
In case anyone misses it, I've just posted about EDF giving us free electricity on Christmas Day. You just need to sign up to the Sunday Saver challenge for December but you don't need to shift your peak usage to receive it.0

All seemed great to begin with.......suddenly a couple of missing days of data due to a blip on the smart meter and bang.....they can't award any free hours of electric for next Sunday and to top it off there was apparently another blip yesterday so they can't award the free hours earned the previous week as they don't known when I used my electric yesterday.
Starting to feel more like a scam!2 -
So I’ve had a couple of Sundays with some free electric but I just got a text saying I didn’t manage to shift enough away from peak this week. So if I understand this correctly, there is now actually an incentive to use more electricity in that peak time to then shift away from it the next week. That way you get a good amount of free hours every other Sunday. Which obviously EDF don’t want you to do, but that’s how they’ve set it up.0

been doing this. but they keep moving the goal posts! you meet the target so they just make it harder. was 7.9 now its 6.10

I'm following with interest as just signed up, lured by the free electricity on Christmas day - if that comes to pass. My target is 1.4% so don't think it could get much lower next month, if I have understood correctly from the info here. I'd just like to be able to use a tumble dryer once a week!0

We did well in October then got an impossible target for November so did not try and now have a reasonable target for December. Unfortunately on our day night rate tariff and a battery the value of the free electricity is only up to £3.I think....0 -
"We're hitting pause on Sunday Saver to make it even better for you. Register on Energy Hub today and we'll keep you updated - https://!!!!!!/3OiPiDk_ "
Has anyone else received this? Does that mean no Sunday Saver for January? So should we not bother this week? Can't find any info anywhere.0 -
I think it's on for this week as I can see a page for it on the Sunday Saver tab but I haven't seen anywhere to sign up for next month yet. Maybe it's a bit soon for that but yes, I got that text too and assumed it means they won't be doing it for a while.0
