My eldest has switched to the new cashback deal and he only became a customer a few months ago. His old deal was the 2% with monthly cap, so not sure this answers your question but his new deal starts on his next 'monthversary'.
I'll be switching once I get my next cashback (around £25 so not worth switching early). I'm presuming they will start the new deal on my ext monthversary leaving me for a month without cashback. I doubt they'll make me wait until my year ends. But it hasn't happened yet so I can't tell you for sure 😊

If you've had all of your cashback for the year why not give it a go though?

The reason I haven't switched my benefits yet is that I would like confirmation from someone that the Moneybox direct debit still works? If it doesn't, it would make sense for me to select a different benefit instead.
Likewise, if it doesn't reset my cashback straightaway, I'd be better off choosing one of the other benefits.

I switched to monthly DD benefits on 28th Aug and according to the App the change is due to be implemented as of 27th Sep which is earlier than the annual reset date which was 30th Oct. I don't know re. Moneybox but somebody linked a post to the Benefits T&Cs earlier in this thread.
Edit. I learn from the "Fees and Useful Information" shared doc that the monthly reset date for accounts opened 27th - 31st is the 27th, hence why I have to wait nearly a month for my benefit to switch.

@norton66 thanks for that.
I have just switched my benefits and can see they will start on the 25th Sep, only 9 months after I earned £30 from a £1500 direct debit to Moneybox. Will attempt another £150 payment to Moneybox on 25th Sep :)

I do wonder how much that offer costs them. I've never been in a Caffe Nero.

I've been in once, ever. Even for a freebie I don't think I'd get one every month once the novelty of the first one had worn off. It depends on whether it's standard coffee or if it includes flavours or iced drinks.
The one time I bought one I winced at the prices but most customers seemed to have codes from Octopus energy or whatever.

I've just done the same. I think that I have set up a monthly DD at Moneybox for £150, aka Payday Boost, but it'll take some minding the first time through their collection cycle.

No Neros near me, but for those that use them it's a decent perk assuming its their normal "any barista made drink" type voucher that covers the specials etc.

Just received email from Zopa. It looks like I will be forced to switch to new style benefit from 22/9 (I just have the option to switch earlier today if I want).
