I thought all my direct debits were set up but became suspicious when I could see no reference to them at all in the app It wasn't until i got an email off Virgin about being unable to collect my payment that I decided to move them back to Santander lite account0

Can I ask what Virgin said in respect of this? I've just setup a direct debit for my credit card.

I already have a weekly DD set up with the Moneybox Simple saver that I no longer need. I've updated with my new zopa account details and it will take 5 days to change. But how do I then set up a one-off DD to collect £1500? I can't see how to turn off the weekly option.flaneurs_lobster said:
I did exactly this - select custom one-off and set to £1500, took around a week to collect the cash by DD. There's a lag of around 3 days before you can access the cash in the Moneybox account (should you wish to).Stargunner said:i just opened one of these accounts and I am going to open a simple saver with Moneybox, to pay in £1500 to get the £30 cashback.
Can someone please advise, when on the add money page (below) will a one off deposit be paid by direct debit, or do I need to select the weekly deposit and then cancel it after the first payment has been made.0 -
I've just looked and it ain't obvious. Think the one-off option is only available when the account is first created. What does seem possible is to change the weekly amount, in this case to £1500. I really can't see how to turn the weekly deposit off.granta said:

Any money collected by one-off and weekly regular deposits both get lumped into the same weekly DD collection cycle, so requesting multiple payments still only results in one DD being taken. To cancel a weekly deposit, the easiest way I've found is to just update the existing one to collect £01 -
Thanks. I've now managed to change existing DD to £0 as a test on the existing linked account so can use this method for zopa once it's set up. BUT, does this mean I have to manually set up the £1500 each month and then change it to zero for the rest of the month manually, and then start again the following month? That's going to be a pain! Unless I do 4 x £375 ?PRAISETHESUN said:granta said:

Why do you want to make the £1500 dd every month, because you can only get a maximum of £30 cashback in any 12 month period.granta said:

Whoops! I've just realised my error. £30 a month would have been nice though!! 😁Stargunner said:

I'm on a 0% promotional offer so need to make the minimum payment every month until the balance is cleared I pay extra by DD. The email informed me that the payment had failed and that if I didn't make a payment by 23rd February I would loose the offer! I quicky made a manual payment and cancelled the DD set up on Zopa and moved it back to my "normal" current accountsheffieldeagle said:
