shell - I did reply to your post about the tubs on the other thread, just incase you didn't see it

:D was just reading about the new baby Mob, awwwww, how lovely

LJD1, I'll be thinking of you all, especially your friend and their little ones, I can't think of anything else useful to say, just wanted you to know that I'll be thinking of you..

Decorations!!! Argh!!!! I hated them within days of putting them up. I am never putting them up on the first weekend again! Oh and mine have to come down before the 4th as that's DS1s birthday and he doesn't like Christmas cards etc being up as it's his Birthday not Jesus's! So that is me told :D Jjef I love the tradition you have created :D made me giggle.

Tomorrow night I will be sat in the house while DP makes as much money as he can from those who wish to go out and get drunk, hopefully noone will be sick in the car this year.
One day I might be more organised...........

    Evening....er morning all!

Just spent this evening tiding the bedroom, moved my new IRON bed to the other side of the room, rearranged furniture and kept clearing stuff out. HOW did I end up with so many things?? My arms hurt a bit now :(

All my bedroom furniture was musty, so wiped and aired a bit....might look for something to put in the drawers to take smell out. All the windows in the flat are open, I think maybe the mold etc. is from having it shut up since March!

Tomorrow I have friends arriving at 2pm and the lounge still looks like a bomb has hit it....

Spare room is still full of boxes to the ceiling, lots to do....my list:

Manic Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    Level One
    Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces

    * Shopping at Morrisons - tomorrow is the day I turn on my new fridge and freezer....I've only been here since March without those appliances...:o Isn't it great that they'll be full of beer and pizza, not very OS but it's a special occasion
    * Take cardboard / 6 carrier bags of clothes (I did well tonight) and 2 bags of books for recycling...oh and 2 bin bags of rubbish, I guess those can go to the tip?
    * Clear lounge (easier said than done, I can't see the carpet at the moment...)
    * Clean bathroom (quickly tidied cuboard earlier)
    * Prepare beds etc. for 5 guests, hope they don't hate me for having a messy flat and having to sleep in lounge
    * Hoover......first time since I moved in.... :o:o:o (hoover arrived recently)
    * Get my fancy dress costume ready for NYE

Phew! That's it. Being on flylady thread inspired me tonight :D

Hope you're all sleeping well and dreaming of clean and tidy homes :p

    Morning all

Littles up since 6.07am. Had a cuppa so far and thats about it. Am thinking of heading off to the kitchen but I only have my dressing gown on and I've left the belt bin in the bedroom so anyone walking past would get a real eyefull (and its not a pretty sight anytime of day let alone first thing in the morning:o ). Sounds like OH is up and about so may be able to cover up now.

Another cuppa and then I shall crack on.

    Another newbie.. another challenge!

I think I understand what I have to do.. to be honest, I have been lured in by the fact I have already completed one of the extra tasks for today! As I couldn't sleep, I've been through the freezer (and cupboards) and written lists of what's in there and what meals I can make from it. Very pleased to have found nearly two weeks worth of evening meals in there! :j

As for the rest of the day, I think I'll stick with Level One along with a stack of washing up to get through.

    Morning

    Welcome elle_gee :hello:

Got to go and get a bit of shopping today so hope it's not chocka block, got to buy a birthday card for nephew (he's 1 today :j ) I looked yesterday but Card Factory didn't have much in by the way of Birthday cards  . Then it's back home for flying and stuff, no meal to cook tonight as MIL is hosting nephews party and doing a buffet so that's us sorted.

Decs coming down tomorrow, Christmas is over and don't see the point of them being up, however the tree this year has really brightened my living room up and hasn't annoyed me so think I'll miss it, itching to take the cards down though. Tonight will be spent watching a bit of tv then bed at usual time I don't really celebrate NY.

Oh and OH didn't show up again last night, that's 2 nights running ... must have really huffed him :D
  • *waves* haven't been here for a while what with everything that's been going on. I think my new years resolution should be to keep up with this thread. The house was much cleaner and tidier when I did.

Smells bicarb is really good for neutralizing - put small pots (open in the drawers) or sprinkle it on things and let it work

Shelley - you reminded me I'd got to pay my Debenham's storecard and my catalogue. Luckily, as my catalogue had got to be paid today but it goes straight through online anyway!

Kaz and other poorlies - hope you're feeling better today.

    :hello: newbies and returners!

Well I spent yesterday doing mine and DD's bedroom. Just need to change bedding in our room, stripped this morning, and hoover. Need to sort out the tops of the bedside drawers as well. But I can't remember the last time that you could walk round the bed without treading on things and there was nothing on the top of the drawers. I still need to finish DD's bedroom although I'm nearly there. She came in when I was in the middle of it and started deciding that things had got to go where she put them so I left her to it!

    List for today:

Strip all beds and leave to air DONE
    Hoover mine and DD's bedroom
    Finish sorting DD's bedroom out
    Wrap remainder of DD's presents
    WM x ?
    TD x ?
Maybe get round to lil-me's list!

I have decided that I'm not getting DD a DS for her birthday - I'm struggling to get one unless it's in a bundle - and told her that if she does some jobs for me, she can have some pocket money and save up for one herself! So I've also told DS he can have some pocket money if he does some jobs for me.

DH says they're too young to have pocket money (DS is 4 & DD is 6 on Wednesday) but I think it will encourage them to tidy up after themselves. Jobs to be done are:
    Keep bedroom tidy
    Straighten quilt in a morning
Put toys away after playing with them
    Lay the table

Bearing in mind their bedrooms are tidy to begin with because I will have sorted them out, do you think this is fair?

Anyway, I'd better make a move

    Catch you later
