LJD1 - I dont expect to make it till midnight. Will just be me and OH (littles will be in bed), nothing much on telly and by 10.30pm I wont be able to keep my eyes open. The fact that the littles could be up from 5.30am onward kind of makes an early night much more essential than seeing in the new year. And yes I am officially a miserable old git!!

I do remember New Years Eves of the past fondly just dont have the energy for that anymore. Was I really a size 8 at one point in my life..................... ahhh memories, if I knew then what I know now. lol!

? who is keeping their decs up until twelwth night (Sat 5th) and who can't stand the clutter and wants their house back?

It's tradition in our house that the tree gets thown out the living room window on new years day - long a go before we had kids it started as a drunken thing but has been kept on even when sober!! so all decs & cards get taken down during the 1st.

LJD I read a thread last week about the date - lots of people think it is the 6th but it said the nights of 25,26,27,28,29,30,31,1,2,3,4 making the night of the 5th the twelth night.

We are off to friends tomorrow night with kids, they live about 10minutes walk away so not far.

I hope the funeral passes aswell as it can. Please be there for your friend in the weeks that follow. Everybody's lives will get back to normal but sadly hers will never return to how it was.

Don't worry Dustykitten i'll definitely be there for her. I've told her i'm going to become her text stalker and I'll see her most days at school too. She won't be able to escape me!

Michelle - i'd love to be asleep by 1030 tomorrow but i know i'll enjoy the party once I get there. I'll take my lemsip to sit in the corner with if needs be! It's easier now the children are a little bit older as they stay awake till just after the bells too.
