Still very tired (bad sleep pattern last night) and my eyes are so sore - think I have had an eyelash stuck 9in there for most of the day. However I checked up and my builder's don't come home until the 28th so I still have 6 days to sort as much as possible. I was in a panic because I felt as though I was running out of time but struggled to get anything done (standing up was difficult enough some days). So I relaxed into 'doing nothing' and feel a lot more human now.
Grateful for having plans (especially for getting even more stuff out of the house (just need the physical energy to do the work). Grateful for films (weird bunch of things I've watched) and food (finished my last bowl of chicken stew today)6 -

Still very stormy on our island... Went back to bed after waking DS3 up for work. After breakfast I set to & did my tax return. So big 🐸 out the way 😀 Cremated some sausages for lunch, put lots of chilli jam on my sandwich to cover up the burnt taste 🤣 DH should've cooked them!
Altered a gorgeous skirt in the afternoon, with a film on in the background. Had to get a couple of bits in the village, but 2 were ys.
After tea I did more memory box filing, then piled it all up on the bookcase in our bedroom. I feel like I'm making progress 😀
Grateful for patient PO staff, DS3's GF sending me some photos from her holiday, a little more floorspace in the living roomUse it up, wear it out

Today I am grateful for a quiet gym session, for a couple more items leaving the house (and earning us a few pennies), for another very enjoyable interview, for dh moving some things around in the dining room to make it easier for sanding and painting the remaining bits of walls, for Pip enjoying being out and about with a friend.

DawnW said:@laura_lau we have oak flooring downstairs and it does get marked. Any obvious scratches or scuffs can be treated with wood dye applied sparingly to problem spots on the clean floor with a soft cloth. Take a photo on your phone of your floor in the best light possible, then take it to a DIY type place and choose the wood dye that is closest possible shade. I will ask my husband for some brand names etc if that would help (I don't normally ask my husband things lol but he is a wood worker, so his expertise on this topic surpasses mine!) The marks don't show with this treatment. It is easy to do and only takes a minute. Remember it will take a while to dry so avoid the area till it does.Debt free journey started 30/08/2023:

Checking in after a couple of days of absence. Work has picked up busy-ness (PDR time is fast approaching, and everyone wants to get things done, making my days really busy and making me mildly annoyed because most of these things could have been out of the way weeks - if not months - ago, if people had just been bothered to respond).
At the same time the Great Migration Of Stuff Back To The Bedroom is happening. The bed was delivered on Monday and it's made such a massive difference on our mood being able to sleep on a good mattress and bed, with a bed that is big enough (OH is about 2m tall, so the space was very insufficient before). The chest of drawers is still blocking one of the windows in the living room, but it's ready to be moved, as soon as it pleases OH (it's very heavy, otherwise I would have tried myself). After the chest of drawers has been moved, I can start sorting the box with the shoes and the boxes with the Summer clothes, which will now have a new place inside the (new) ottoman bed. I also want to re organise how I store the bedsheets and the larger towels, so hopefully it will make thing easier to manage.
Still need to buy the new duvet, we are now using the old double size duvet, which barely covers the mattress, so not suitable at all, luckily it hasn't been too cold yet. This will be my one planned expense for post-payday.
While filling the wardrobe, I had a very good look at all my (Winter) clothes, and was ruthless. I listed quite a few of them, and have made a good sale today. Need to remember to go and drop it off to the locker today, so it's a few items out of the way! I also filled a bag with items that I didn't feel comfortable selling, but are still in great condition to be donated to someone who might need them, I need to also drop off that bag, hopefully I will find some time to do that today too, so another bag out of the flat.
We also have another chest of drawers, smaller but in solid wood, which was left to us by the previous owner of the flat. It's simple pine, but it's not that bad at all, however it clearly hasn't been protected when they were doing painting works and similar in the past. It was in OH's cupboard, which is now much smaller, so the chest of drawer doesn't fit anymore, and I thought we would best try and sell it, but I had an idea: we can put it in the landing, where the shoe cupboard is, which is broken, so we are not really using it, and it would make a nice corner unit. I was thinking about putting some wood panelling on the lower half of the wall there (to clean more easily, as the entrance is narrow and we have a dog) and a nicely patterned wallpaper on the top half, to brighten up the space. The wall surface is really minimal, as it's mostly doors and doorframes, so the cost would be really small, and then we can stick some of the peel and stick wallpaper on the sides of the wooden chest of drawers too, to put it together with the rest of the space. It's a job for next Spring, as now I have no budget, no time, and no mental capacity to do it, but it makes me happy to think that with little expense and little time we can actually have a landing space more pleasant to the eye and also more functional.
Today was NSD #15! I am grateful for a good sleep on the new bed, new solutions to make the space nice with little cost, and for a weekend of celebrations ahead of me, while visiting my friend in Ireland.

Afternoon all,
Sorry for not posting for a few days. I’ve lost track of how many NSDs I’m at for the month as well. I’ve been able to clear out a few bits though-sold an unwanted treadmill to a family friend, gave away a plastic set of drawers to my DSIL2, have taken a tiny bag of leads to the small electrical recycling at my local library and taken three bags of Mum’s books, her spare unopened pairs of slippers, a few of my DVDs and some sandals that I don’t find comfortable to a local charity shop. Have also arranged to sell some more of Mum’s books and my DVDs to some book-selling sites so will get those prepped in the next day or so-one I have to deliver to shop, the other two will be picked up next Tuesday. Have also been making some blankets to use up some smallish balls of wool and have confirmed that DB2 wants two of them for my two littlest nieces so will take them when I go over to their house tomorrow.
I need to sit down and plan finances for next month today or tomorrow morning as DB1 will get paid tomorrow and will want to know how much his half of the bills will be, and if he owes any more from this month. My brain is a bit fried from everything at the moment tbh so am having a reasonably chilled day catching up on MSE posts and knitting a new jumper for myself. Will prob watch a tv show on D15ney+ later which I’m trying to get up to date on and am planning to cook up a random mixture of things this evening to use up bits from the freezer for dinner.
I’m thankful for little bits of space that we’re getting from decluttering unwanted/unneeded items, a little bit of money gained from selling treadmill and being able to have a quieter day today.10 -
Today I am grateful for dh chauffeuring Pip and me around, for good chats with Pip, for sunshine, for finding myself on the utube of the triathlon my son in law competed in (yay! Fame!🤣🤣🤣).

HI turtles,
Defo lost track of the spending days, I was in London yesterday for work and took a pack up, but not enough and I succumbed to a Pr3t on the way home at Euston station. It is very long day when I 'go to work' 6.20am train, and I get back home well after 8pm. I think I may be getting a bit too old for it!
Very grateful for
- seeing some of my lovely colleagues, in person
- Nice dry walk to the station in the morning, birds starting to sing. \
- Nice call with a friend when I got home.
