Was it just the heat or is the a more technical reason?

In case anyone missed the Aldi one, Argos are selling the Kenwood KDC W4527 for £66.59(cat. no. 500/3394), but if they haven't got any they replace it with a Kenwood KDC W4031(new model) for the same price, just got one.
Halfords are selling the new model for £180 at the moment!! Car audio direct have it for £95.

nice spot m8,quality cd/mp3 player for that price,
cant believe halfords price £180,how do they sell any? i guess some people just dont shop around:eek: they do brag about free fitting though:D that should save u ten minutes:rotfl:

It was the recording speed simple as that . The book tells you what discs are acceptable to the cd /mp3 player but it also says to record discs at 2x .I use nero and it was recording at 40x so I took it as low as I could that was 8x and it works perfectly now

Thanks for that boatman, not having an aldi imediately near me forced me to miss out on the tevion/aldi offer but would sooner have a kenwood any day of the week as I rate kenwood and pioneer to be the top names in quality audio.

I can't take all the credit, Someone else posted the stereo offer originally but i couldn't find it again when i looked to thank them so added it here.

I posted about that one on this thread - but it was removed !! - for some weird reason - perhaps the mods can tell us why ?

IMO it's a much better player for only 16 pounds more - I bought one yesterday ....

there hasn't been any posts removed on this thread, Mark - they'd show up to me if there had been. Maybe it was another thread or perhaps a glitch when the site was slow and it didn't post correctly

I must be going mad - I'll try and work out where i posted ! I remember as I posted that it had 4x50W output, and someone else replied saying that it was only 4x30W - and a post about RMS/peak power ratings etc.

It was definately on this forum somewhere.

Bizarre.

As for the Kenwood - if you can get the newer 4031 (which is the replacement one - although when I went to pick up and my dad at another store - both were the replacement one) - I think it looks cosmetically better - less cluttered etc- with very similar specs.
