Dya know, I cant begin to tell you the releif I feel about being here today, I dont know how to put it in words other than to tell you that I honestly thought my kids would be better without me in their life, they may well be in some people opinions but I am the only mam they have got, they have no dad and whilst I have messed up I will stand and fight.

Its only money, as long as I keep the house the rest can take me to the highest court in the land, I still wont have any money.

I CAN do it, I may not be able to clear my debts until I have an income but as long as the kids are fed then bread and water will do me just fine, hell I may even lose weight, but I will make my mortgage payment and beg the mortgage company to give me til June (when I can earn) to make a proper attempt at getting the arrears down, until then they will have any extra I can make from eBay, surveys, whatever.

I still cant find my creditor file, the house is a tip but never mind, I need to sleep very soon I am exhausted and tired and if I am not careful I will go high as a kite through lack of sleep.

Will update you tomorrow with Orange, Mortgage company etc

Just to say really well done, you've had a heck of a day

Also though just to add that once things have settled down and you have a grip on everything it might be worth telling your kids that things might have to be a bit tight moneywise for a while. Really just because firstly they'll probably notice eventually anyway (and it's a lot less scary if they're told it calmly by you and assured everything is under control) and secondly because it's part of educating them to be smart adults, teaching them about finance. I'm not saying go into a lot of detail, just letting them know that there isn't a lot of money to go around would be enough.

Sorry if I'm poking my nose in it's just that the scariest thing as a child is knowing something is up but not knowing what....and kids can cope with almost anything if it's explained to them properly and they can see it's being sorted. It also reduces the burden on you to 'hide' stuff from them. But wait and do it in your own time when you feel totally able to be calm...

Really pleased for you that you're feeling so much better. You have every right to give yourself a HUGE pat on the back. Well done.

Hi and welcome. Stick with us cos there are loads of really clever people who post on this site who can point you in the right direction. As SS said we are not experts (an ex being a has been and a spurt is a drip under pressure), but we have been in debt.
