K turned one so we lost the baby element.

That and looks like I'm not going out on friday after all as my mate can't make it. :( Another night in with the tv for me then.

Awww sorry you can't go out... I know what it's like to be in with the TV every night, I hardly go out anymore:rolleyes: . Could you get a DVD and a takeaway instead? xx

  • We could tigz... but I was looking forward to getting out of the house! Ste and I were talking of going out to the pub instead but that would mean finding a babysitter and MIL already has the girls every sunday evening for band practice...

Ah yes.... I see what you mean. Is there anyone else that could have them? It's frustrating when you can't get out.

I can't believe that everything that used to be in place to assist the lower earning/less wealthy is being removed and the entrepreneurs are being protected.
Quote from times on line link above.

Last week the chancellor announced a partial climbdown when he unveiled plans for entrepreneurs’ relief. Business owners - those with a stake of more than 5% in the company they work for – will pay only 10% tax on gains up to £1m. This is a lifetime limit, so while individuals will be able to claim relief for gains made on multiple occasions, they cannot exceed the £1m barrier

yet you get stripped of child benefit because your baby (as i'm sure she still is in many ways) has dared to turn one.
Sharesavers who usually get paid a low salary compared to massive company profits are being stripped of the benefits while the entrepreneurs are "protected"

Ah well as they say, the rich get richer and everyone else gets poorer.

Sorry for the rant i just think it is abysmal that just as K has passed her 1st birthday you are stripped of the money per week when she is still, to many effects a baby.

If you are a nursery nurse is there no way you could divert that into child minding? that way you could have K and A at home, along with another one or 2 children no need for childcare costs of your own and you'd be earning at the same time?

Alas, cynical me is thinking "Would these measures really improve the lot of people on an MP's salary..?"
