I-A, Have just done a quick calc, and based on £14k & the new tax & NI rates, I reckon Ste's wages will drop by less than £60 a year...more like £35....HMRC has a page of rates & allowances which you can use to calculate NI & Tax for next year.
Also, isn't Child Benefit going up in April? And will Ste be in line for a pay rise or an increment0 -
Thanks guys... nice of the government to tax us even more though! :rolleyes:Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Essentially, if you earn less than 18,600/a you'll take a slight pay drop. If you earn more than 18,600/a you'll take a slight pay rise (around 2% of everything over 18,600).

It's not that simple it's coming in with some tax/child credit adjustments so if you earn less than around £18k and are single you are truely going to be worse off particularly in the 10-13k band; if you have kids though you are supposed to be marginally better off...
National Insurance is changing too IIRC
