In case this helps most CABx run their adviser training courses every 6 months so if you get accepted you could always ask to start on the next one. I am sure they won't mind as they are usually desperate to get younger people invovled.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Just read that back, and felt like it sounded like I was having a go. I wasn't. It's just I did my parents tax calculations for the next year last night and it's about £150 a year from each we are losing thanks to the new tax rules, which leaves things really tight month to month. No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

At the moment you get £5k odd tax free, then the next £2k at 10% tax, then the remainder at 22% tax (unless you go over I think it's £40k then it's 40%).
They are removing that 10% bit and changing 22% to 20%.
So you'll now have £5k odd tax free, then 20% on everything over that.
On my mum's income of £13k a year, she's £150 worse off a year, doesn't seem like a lot but it is to us.No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
