Whatever Ste earns, take off £5k - that's yours
Then take off £2000 - this gets taxed at 10% (so £250 tax)
Then the remainder - take off 22% - this gets taxed.
Then you get three tax figures (£0, £250, then the 22% bit), take that off the yearly salary and divide by 12 for current take home pay.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
New bit, take off 5k as before
Then the rest take off 20%.
Then take that 20% figure off the total salary, divide by 12 this is your new take home pay.No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
Where would we be without you guys eh?
Got a stressful day ahead. Ste's day is having a triple heart bypass op today Keeping everything crossed for him that it all goes smoothly and he has a quick recovery. Ste's obviously very worried and didn't sleep last night at all. But hopefully it'll all be over soon.
:grouphug: been there with my DH recently. Trying to offer words of comfort and support, but they wont come out right :think: take care of yourselves. x0 -
Old system:
£5k tax free
£2k @ 10% tax = £200
£7k @ 22% tax = £1540
Total annual tax = £1740
New system:
£5k tax free
£9k @ 20% tax = £1800
Total annual tax £1800
So you will lose £60 a year.
Is that right?"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
You made the right choice not to, the cost of all the taffeta required is incredible.
Just caught up on the thread IA. Sorry to hear that some urchin has been over exciting him/herself on your thread, I say we contact Mr T and waste the fool! If s/he comes back then tell him/her to quit their jibba jabba.
Hope everything goes well with Ste's father.
Hi there. New to your thread.
Yes that's about right. Although the allowances will all change as well, so you might find it's more like £3 or £4 per month. This only kicks in from April this year as well, remember.
