Grateful for completing a week working with some amazingly talented people who appreciate me and my sense of humour.I'm off to the South Coast for work again tomorrow, grateful for work for the rest of the week, grateful for remembering to check the weather forecast and packing some warm clothes (brrrrrr! in Septembrrrrrrrrr). I can feel the temperature drop tonight already.I had to miss out on a trip to the pub tonight with workmates, because I had to come home and pack, I leaving at 8am tomorrow. I really hated having to be sensible though. Came home, ate with DH, spent £0, NSD 5 so far.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Well that's another load of stuff gone. They finished just before 4 pm and apart from getting something to eat, I've been on the couch ever since. I do have a lot of things to go out of the house and a number of errands to do but when I tried this morning my legs and muscles weren't having it. Will try again tomorrow.
Grateful for wonderful waste wizards, deciding to add a few more things to the pile (just remembered something I forgot, never mind it takes up less than a 2' diameter circle), resting and relaxing.10 -

Welcome @Alising. Good luck with your course, I'm sure you'll pick up lots of hints & tips from our turtle gang!
Hope you're on the mend @beanielou. Sending hugs & healing thoughts from our very wet & windy island x
Well done in clearing more space @grandmanerd, you deserve a rest now!
Think I'm on NSD#5
Been a busy time here, with lots of sewing, work & some pottering outside over the weekend. Got more wood chopped for winter, so the pile to be done is getting smaller. DH has started repairing the wood store, so I'll soon be able to move all the cut pieces out of the garage. Finally got an appointment for the start of my cataract removal - yippee! Should have an all seeing eye or 2 before my birthday & the dark nights.
I've been doing yoga most mornings, even went a walk after work last night too. Made myself stop sewing at 9.10pm last night, rather than push myself to finish a bag of things. Got out my jigsaw instead & DS3 came to join me.
A productive day today, yoga, Norwegian, took DS1 to work & cooked my dinner for today & tomorrow. After work I put up some autumnal decorations, lit a couple of candles & did the ironing, followed by more jigsaw. Put off a new customer, who was thinking if popping over tonight to be pinned into something. Told her to come after her holiday. I'm having a rare night off from sewing, so trying to stick to my guns!!
Grateful for listening to the heavy rain whilst cosy inside, wearing the new coat which I won, me time & looking at my autumnal decorationsUse it up, wear it out

Self-Recognition is the first step
Once the “recognition” of self happens, an unconditional self-acceptance happens. There are no two conflicting sides left within us; the inner critic merges with the inner transformation mode.
Many a times, precious time, energy and money is lost only in coming to terms with the situation and accepting it fully; situations like – not getting a career break, being told of a lay-off, facing an unexpected silent layoff, relationship break-ups, health challenges or any snowball that life throws at us.
With Self-Acceptance, the mind is open to see the pros and cons as they are – without biases or attachments. It is what it is; the solution which comes out with a free mind space has a high chance of being implemented, as the ownership comes from within. It’s not forced by external or internal demands.
So, when a student (of any age) decides to set aside time to study a subject, one is beating procrastination or the urge to scroll the social media feeds or binge eat or shop online. That time decided by the student has his/her complete buy-in, because the onus comes through Self-Acceptance.
How to build Self-Acceptance
There are various tools – Journaling, Meditation, Reframing using Neuro Linguistic Programming, Storytelling – as a tool to reconstruct your life story, assessments like DISC to understand one’s personality – the behaviour drivers.
Let’s look into some of these tools which you can choose to use:
Journaling : Ever wondered why writing a diary at the end of the day is a must-do activity for many? Well, the thoughts in the mind are the “monkey” within, in their nature.
They cannot sit still, hence what you thought a few minutes ago can be replaced by a flood of another set of thoughts. Many a times the “aha” thoughts pass by if not captured.
Journaling is therapeutic. It’s your inner dialogue captured through written words using tools like a pen and paper or notes on your mobile phone.
When you write, the mind is focussed and not scattered. The “monkey” is tamed. Try writing your goals, wish list, tasks to be done, tasks completed, timelines, wishes…
Do it consistently over a period of time and experience the clarity and focus in the thought process you are choosing to change.
Meditation : The impact of meditation is as true as the sun rising in the east. What it does is that it brings an inner calm and stillness; where the outside chatter of thoughts, opinions, criticism, compliments do not bother. A daily practice of 10 minutes and gradual increase of focussed stillness leads to self acceptance, refreshing and rebooting oneself.
Reframing : Well, words have huge impact and power. What is spoken and How it is spoken is immense and the semantics have a great influence on the speaker and listener. “ I hate oranges”, can be reframed as “ I prefer apples, instead of oranges”. This is an example of reframing.
Using power verbs to begin a sentence while introducing oneself or choosing words carefully in office meetings conveys a lot towards acceptance of self and respect towards others.
The journey within the self is the most crucial and difficult one. Self-acceptance is a step towards self-care. If one is caring towards the self, where is the space to be anything different towards others?
Explore each or more of the above modes and see what you resonate most with – Choose, Change, Refresh, Reboot – voila here’s the new You!!

A really slow day for me - my ankles didn't want to work and small tasks became extremely difficult. I managed a couple of trips to the bin and have brought a water butt holding a spade and a roll of wed suppressant into the yard from outside. I attempted to go out but the lashing rain stopped me. It finally cleared up around tea time and I made a dash for little Arseda (hadn't even decided which of several options I was going for as I left the house). Did a small shop and activated the card for my new current account (can check my balances and do a proper shop online now) but got drenched on the way home.
I have sorted my repeat prescription - ordered last week but not been told it was on it's way. Apparently they were missing a few items but the one I urgently need (enough left for tomorrow but not the next day) was in stock so they'll send what they have out tomorrow. DS2 phoned me about grandma's house so that's one more thing off my to do list (I've been trying to phone my brother but he doesn't get up until mid - late afternoon). They also want a brief meeting at weekend so DS2 will arrange a time and pick me up. That's another task off my list as we can return all the old paint (plus the extras) to grandma's house rather then me doing it by taxi. Brother or niece can take it all to the tip (they have cars/ camper vans). I will bring back my seeds and see if DS2 can fit my garden chairs in his car (otherwise brother can drop them off for me sometime).
I'm down to my last 2 library books but one that was plodding has suddenly taken off (loved all the older books by this author but found the last 2 strange/ heavy going) which is just as well because the library felt very far away.
Grateful for getting food (the last two days have been oddments and stray combinations), only getting wet briefly (wet but not cold all through) seeing a squirrel in the church yard.9 -
Today I am grateful for being able to exercise, for my counsellor, for seeing some friends for lunch, for paella for tea, for being in the car when the hailstones fell!

Work went well. Staff are noticing more & more how little the other support person in the class with me is doing. Hopefully someone will speak to her soon.
Had an early tea, then watched a programme with DH. Got lots of sewing done, so 2 big bags out of my bedroom, plus a small bag & a bag-less item. Did my jigsaw afterwards.
Grateful for thick, cosy socks, my sewing pile looking half the size, continuing with me timeUse it up, wear it out
