Sorry I've been AWOL again, it's been a busy week.
Sending hugs & healing thoughts to @abundant1972, @weenancyinAmerica & @grandmanerd.
Finished my big sewing job & got a few smaller ones done. A relief to finally be nearly caught up again. Had a lovely time last night, knitting with mum & watching a series. Caught up on lots of things too.
Today I took her shopping, did my big shop with the L1DL discount, put it all away, then collected firewood from a friend's house. Tonight I finished making the quilled initial in a frame, ready for work bestie's birthday on Friday. Hope she likes it!
Think I'm on NSD#12 now.
Grateful for supportive friends, time with mum, my very ill cousin phoning me for a chat, chat with my brother, getting a nice dress vastly reduced in the Tosco saleUse it up, wear it out

A busy but productive day today. Torrential rain on awakening, so after reading my book over breakfast, I made a sweet potato & chickpea hotpot for my dinners at work. Just need to cook some rice now to go with it.
Spent 7 hours sorting out the wood store, then hammering in all the nails poking out & cutting all the pieces of dry wood, including the new bits I was given yesterday. They're all stacked nicely in the tidy woodstore. Still some to barrow over from the garage, but can do that another day. It was starting to get dark & I was very achy! Had a nice chat with DS1 & a teacher I know came to buy some books I'd advertised & drop some sewing repairs off.
Grateful for getting prepared for the colder days, the radio to keep me company while I worked, & the chat with DS1. I'll miss him when he goes on holiday early Tuesday morningUse it up, wear it out

Thanks for this month's thread apple. I found the dialogue intriguing, I will be going back to read them in detail.5

Yesterday 2 sacks of cans and bottles were binned and 3 bin bags of rubbish went out - after a certain amount of shuffling recycling I was able to bring one bin bag and 5 takeaway bags back to the house. More washing up was done, washing finally went out on the line late in the afternoon and it's been raining for most of last night and today. One pan was wrapped for donating and I've redone a pile of plates and a couple of bowls (last survivors of sets of six. I've identified more pans to go, done more washing up and measured several items of furniture and the space I want to fit them into.
I'm very tired and my legs and back ache and my knees are creaking, occasionally cracking and I'm trying hard not to fall over anything (or fall because there's a space where there used to be something to hold onto as I crossed the room. I've just finished cooking 27 sausages, I'll bag them up in 2s and 3s (still working slowly through mum's plastic bag mountain). Lots to use up, lots to do but I'll just keep doing one bit at a time (have a pile of sheets and a pile of pillowcases plus clean dry clothes.
Grateful for progress however slow, books and series for resting, making meals from what I have.8 -
grandmanerd said:Thanks Shrewbie - I was just wondering how to nudge whoever had volunteered. Nudge isn't rude on the internet, is it?
I'll do it - can dig all the old getting ready for winter stuff from previous years and add a bit of magic.

Thank you everyone for accompanying us through September. As I've been thinking about writing my own story, I've made some interesting discoveries about how I was thinking, my inner monologue, my viewpoints...I love that each month is a new chapter so I'm looking forward to Octoberfest - which I keep thinking of as Oktoberfest, a totally different experience 🤣Today I am grateful for Pip having a good day, for making a yummy (but runny) lemon meringue pie, for applying for another little job, for the winter duvet!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!6

Thank you for September's thread @apple_muncher, sorry I've been a bit lax in posting.
Was woken up super early by DH & then DS, so didn't get back to sleep. Very achy in my shoulders & back, so filled a hot water bottle to relax my joints. Noticed on the way to work that the tension had moved up to my jaw, then mid-afternoon to my eyes!
Work went well, my afternoon pupil was pleased to see me after their holiday. Good progress with my morning pupil too. Drove to the other end of the island to restring some Roman blinds. Managed to cobble something together & was generously paid 😍 popped into mum's for 5 mins on my way home.
Watched TV with DS1 & made plans for the morning. Practiced lots of Norwegian, as DS1 had given me access to his super plan.
Grateful for surviving the day despite feeling rubbish, finding the customer's house & things working out well, a relaxing evening, my warmer PJ's & an early night!
See you in October 😃🎉Use it up, wear it out
