So just like Tomato, they dont say directly we don't accept SMET1 but only support limited meters.

They look to be better funded and a lot more stable than Tomato as a result.
Their parent company recently exited from AIM as it was acquired by a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi based Royal Group Holding PLC.

Good Energy has 2 interesting smart tarriffs:
-5p a night (it doesn't need EV, it says you may need EV to get most of it)
    -12p between 5-9am and 13-16:00

But the interesting part is this bit:

    Good to know

You'll need a working smart meter that sends half-hourly meter readings - we can connect to most smart meters installed from 2019 onwards. Once signed up we'll review your meter and let you know when we've successfully connected to it, or fix it if there are any problems. This may take up to 2 weeks.

@Newbie_John :  That's interesting. Which Good Energy tariff are you looking at? I can't find one offering the 5p a night rate. In my area their EV tariff is 8p. Perhaps it is area related.
Yeah, sorry it's 8p. I somehow have seen 5p instead!
The Heat Pump version has 12p.

I've just shared that one with Rosie :)
100Green have their "Tide Smart" three-rate tariff with seven hours at 9p and a hump for rhe evening peak like Agile. Not sure it offers much that you can't get with boring E7 elsewhere.

You would think they would prioritise their inability to read most SMETS 1 meters before giving their app a slight tweak
My SMETS1 meters worked fine with Octopus and worked fine for the first 6 weeks with Tomato before they stopped - that was October 16th last year.

I've now moved to Fuse Energy - and my SMETS1 meters are reporting half hourly readings from the minute they took over.

Tomato need to stop blaming SMETS1 and start blaming their own systems !!

In my region Good Energy (heat pump version):
    5-9:00 12p
    13-16:00 12p
    rest of the day 29.62p
    standing charge 43.66p

    Octopus Cosy:
    4-7:00 13.70p
    13-16:00 13.70p
    22:00-0:00 13.70p
    16-19:00 41.94p
    rest of the day 27.94p
    standing charge 44.66p

Neither of these is as good as TE Lifestyle.. but Good Energy appears cheaper although it's really hard to compare as next cheaper slot after 4pm is not until 5am.. and you would definitely need to heat house between 16-5am
:D Although you save some pence on cooking 16-19.

There's also EDF with similar hours to GoodEnergy but 15p and 25p.
Eon Next Pumped and Scottish don't show prices online..

Although seen this web page comapring all of them:
    https://www.capture.energy/blog/what-is-the-best-tariff-for-my-heat-pump-uk

But again, at glance TE Lifestyle is the only tarrif that has the super low overnight rate of 5p.

Anything cheap before about 5:30am or after about 8pm is wasted for me. I can't really avoid putting heating on for an hour or so during the evening peak when outside afternoon temperature is below 5 °C, otherwise it wouldn't go on between 4pm-5:30am.
At the moment I'm doing very well on Agile Octupus. June has been cheaper than it would have been on TE Lifestyle. But I would not stay on through the winter months.

Utility Warehouse offer 5p overnight on E7, but IIRC the daytime rate is 40-something to compensate.

Bu that's the problem - TE offers cheap peak, lower additional periods and cheap over night rate.
With everyone else you need to choose something to sacrifice..

BUT with UW you have to take extra products through them like phone, broadband etc etc to get their better rates
