All things Tomato Energy must be ok now as this thread is not updated every minute.

My Dad left Tomato Energy middle of April but has not had his last/final bill from them. He used to get a bill at the start of the month.

He's has got his bill from Octopus for the few days he was with them after switching from Tomato.

Maybe it takes longer for the final bill?
Maybe I have spoken to soon.

My Dad got an email today saying they are going to take just under £70 on 13/05/25 by DD but no bill.

Strangely that is the exactly the same amount as his last bill from them.

"Are you alleging that their accounts are falsified, sort of Enron in reverse? " Not Tomato, they are not yet a big company but it is standard operating practice for large UK companies, especially energy where profit is restricted to 2 percent, and not falsified just clever accounting and off-shoring costs such as call-centres, etc. What you see is not what is actually going down.

Worst as expected Octopus - 10 times more than any other big provider. They have gone bad recently.

    Tomato not a problem 😅

I am the one who started this thread last August.

Switched 2 account to Tomato on September 1st and I've never had a bill, they have messed up the meter addresses. MyWatts worked for 6 weeks then nothing.

No end of emails and promises leads to nowhere.

At least the twice monthly meter reads show up - but that's because I'm in control of those not Tomato.

A complete shambles of a Company.

I think Tomato should settle with people like you at let's say 12p/kWh + standing charge and let them go..

Then for new customers accept everyone onto Prime tariff and if able to read meter data - allow to move to Lifestyle.

Maybe better posted in news or Octopus threads where it can be commented rather on  a Tomato thread.

The issue was customers with complex metering. Tomato are unlikely to have any such customers.

Also, there's no "fine". Ofgem isn't punishing the companies or charging them. The sums involved are repayments to customers.

I think it's Tomato related, shows the scale of problems with other providers.
Tomato customers have different issues, they've been under charged (or not charged at all).

So it's related because the issue isn't related :D

I follow the Tracker, Agile and Fixed forum threads fairly religiously, as well as Tomato rather less religiously, as I try to decide if the 14-M Loyalty Fix still gives me the best overall value from what's on offer. [Low consumption, little load shifiing, north east panels but no EV].  From a detached, possibly superficial level, I am steered away from Tomato by the sheer volume of correspondence mostly of a technical acounting nature in this thread, implying that Tomato users have vastly more to write in about compared with the sister threads. That the price for enjoying super low prices is the hassle involved in getting the sums to add up.
No such thing as a free lunch?
