Fab - DVD would be best as Mum doesn't have a VCR any more :)

I have an HD recorder as well and I agree that they are fab things! - although it's not that easy to transfer things off. My friend sold me a DVD recorder for £25 for the purpose but it's been sitting in its box for the last year :o :rotfl:

Well done on your DS's suit, anyway! I forgot to mention I got a jumper in the M&S sale today. It's pink :D

Edited to say: oh what a shame, an excuse to go to the pub with you? Damn it, I suppose it's just got to be done ;)

    Good evening everyone,

Sorry, i have come back on to have a big moan, i have had a lovely afternoon - lovely friend and i shared a bottle of wine and a lovely meal, followed by a bit of sale shopping - to arrive home to find exOH had been waiting (so not in a good mood) for me to get back, and it is so obvious that he has spent, not only money but time, thought and effort on DSs presents, but not DDs - has made me feel dreadful for DD, it is getting stupid now, does he really think they dont notice? DS followed me into the kitchen and actually said he felt sorry for his sister, am i being unreasonable to think horrible thoughts about him???

Never mind, i hope i make up for him, for both of them!!!

Well I'm back again!!!! Have got some of my list done- made the Leek Potato soup(smells NICE:j ), got the stuff ready for the stock but haven't put it on as will probably need the pan to heat the soup back up after liquidising,(don't I sound organised:rotfl: :rotfl: )made the jely up, didn't make the clemintine cake:o BUT did make some meringues as had some egg whites to use and Viennese whirls (my dead easy standby)
dorry was very interested re your friends thoughts om hormones affecting migraine as I have been having severe ones fro the last couple of years. They seem to be getting worse and i was thinking that they do seem to be linked to my cycle(not always though but more often than not)
Hardup Hester get rid of your "wonderful" lodger now. You deserve much much better.
AnnieBooklover thank you for your good wishes. The thing is that I spend far too much time resting!!!!:rotfl: (thats why my house is a midden!!!)
    Tired Mum poor you(((((HUGS)))))
One very nice surprise today DH told me to put my hands out and close my eyes. He put a money bag into my hand with £125:eek: in it to go towards getting tickets for the tour(yep Level 42 are touring next year again:beer:  :j :j :j ) Wonder what part of the country I will end up in. What a nice surprise. Have been to very many places that I would never had gone to if I wasn't going to the concerts. You tend to see a lot of the same people that travel to multi concerts. Have beecounting down the days, so when I get the tour dates I will be asking for your advice as Ialways try to go to another new place every tour. Anyway will go and do a bit more stuff now, have taken some tablets and at the mo htings are not that bad(make hay whilst the sun shines!!) Take care and have a nice evening. Ann xxxx

I don't usually suffer froim migraines but have had a total of three in my whole life, ALWAYS during my period. The first time was scary, I was 13 and having my first period, and I was travelling on the Tube when I started having a weird reaction to the lights :(

Edit: sorry, forgot to say - catowen, your ex sounds like an ar5e, if you'll forgive me saying so. Your love and respect for your kids is always really obvious from your posts, and it's a shame they (or at least DD) don't have two parents who appreciate them as much as you do. However, as you say, at least they do have one like you :)

Massive (((Hugs))) Grannybroom, Pipkin & Family, Catznine's DD, (do suffer myself but only about 1 a year now) & Catowen - my dsis has exactly the same problem with her ex OH, somestimes he buys my newphew something & nothing for my niece.

Had a lovely lunch and guests have been gone for about half an hour so catching up on here, no need for a real tea tonight so will be picking at the chocolates and stuff.

Did pm Crazychik with beef stroganof receipe but as Dorry has asked also here it is. Must apologise as there are no measurements.

Yesterday just OH & myself had it and we used 2 small steaks 1 onion and about 10 button mushrooms - which was plenty.

Have onion and steak ready chopped - mushrooms sliced.

Fry steak in butter approx 2 mins. Season to taste.
Remove with slated spoon & put on warm plate.
Fry onions in same pan roughly 2 mins then add mushrooms - cook for a couple more minutes - I then test a mushroom and check its cooked enough for me.
Add steak back to the pan & add a good slosh of wine, cook for a minute and then add a slosh of cream. Cook for another minute - check & add more cream/seasoning if required.

Thats it very quick and easy. There are many different variations but this is the one my Mum always did and its our favourite. We sometimes have it with rice or saute potatoes.

Off now to catch up on some other threads, want to look at the cinema listings as think we are going to see Enchanted tomorrow. We are not going out in the evening which suits me - will probably be a misog and have an early night.

    Have a lovely evening.

    evening all,

had a busy day, went to matalan and got 2 jumpers for me, 6 pairs knicks for me, 2 x pj for DD for £21 they have got so much stuff in the sale, if I had the room and the cash i would have bought next years xmas presents.

Came home and made cream of brocoli and stilton soup, and cream of veg soup, all from left overs, got about 16 portions to freeze, we had some for tea, it was looooverly.

Pipkin , glad your nephew is over the worst x

catowen hugs to your children x

anniebooklover, my vodka is fine, but i did put 15 mars bars in mine :D , I am not sure what you could mix it with, I only have a tiny glass, sort of like a liquer.

    Hope aussie is ok xx
