Hello everyone!
I'm going to stick the hot water on in a minute and have a lovely bath as my joints are really giving me what for! I am regretting walking to the PO yesterday as my body is making me pay for itI really need to get a new swimmer and will have to go to Bravissimo to try one on this week, so I can finally start swimming. I live down the road to our local pool and get a reduced disabled rate. I told OH we could also take advantage of the special offer they do on Saturday evenings where you can use the pool, gym and sauna/steam for under £3 for you and your carer. But we need cossies first! I'm not sure that we'll make Brighton today, but OH has Thursday off, so it's perfect for a pop there and to the tip before that
I've had a look through our cupboards and apart from milk, we can deffo shop from home this week, which is great. I'm not trusting OH to stop buying whatever he eats whilst he's working, but I know that we can save a good few pennies from doing as little food shopping as possible over the next couple of weeks-saves me time too, as I want to get some more decorating and clearing done, so we can put this place on the market by Easter. With some of the money I save this week, I'll be ordering 'The Tightwad Gazette' and a copy of 'Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World' for both myself and a friend (as a Christmas and birthday pressie-she loves baking but is allergic to eggs, so it's perfect for her) as well as a couple of books on the East End as most of my family are from there and I love historical books-perfect!
My plans for today:
* Inventory of cupboards
* Dishwasher
* Clean kitchen
* Sand dodgy wall ready to be painted tomorrow
Glad I went to Boots on Friday as I got a few things for birthday pressies and some smellies to last OH a while. He uses stuff that is usually £4 each item but he's not bought anything full price since I've been with him (5 years)! I managed to get the stuff for £4 for 2 items, plus the nifty boxes it comes in which I have loads of uses for. I got my sister a fab pressie for half price and bought myself..... some vitamins! They have some great kids toys half price at the mo if any of you have birthdays coming up-the talking Pingu, TMX Elmo and more...
There are special hugs going to GB, Pipkin and catznine (I'm another migraine sufferer-mainly to do with my Fibro, but my Mum has suffered from them since a young teen, so I'd've had to put up with them anyway.)
Have a good day everyone.

Just thought I would pop on and let you know nephew is ok. he's awake - although still drowsy, and the hospital are not so worried now.
I'm so relieved. Poor sis must have had the weight of the world on her shoulders yesterday. Not so good when she's almost 9 months pregnant. Mom has had a bad night, especially as we all live so far from each other. Like me, mom just felt helpless.
Thanks for your kind words everyone.

Please take your own advice (I don't mean that cheekily though) and REST!
Mary43 I confess that I buy loads of lovely prints, pictures, photo frames, etc then find that I have absolutely no room to display them. Maybe I should start rotating them just like the art galleries? :rotfl:
Off to make some melon, grapes and blueberries for lunch - don't feel like anything at all but I need to eat something.

Afternoon all....read the thread this morning, but did not have time to post..
(((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))) if you need one...........
Its a dullish day OH has gone out for a walk, I am going to join him in the new year, we are going to walk for at least 20 minutes every day. I hate town walking, I would much rather walk in the country, but that would mean using the car to get there and we are trying to cut down on the amount of fuel we put in each month. We are lucky that we live on a bus route both into town and also to the shopping precinct, where there is Mr T boots , WH Smiths, Wilkinson etc and also the library and swimming pool. It is one reason we wanted to stay in the area when we moved.
I have taken some turkey out of the freezer for supper, made a crumble for pudd and have a loaf in the breadmaker, I did some sewing yesterday, managed to muck up two things, so gave up, not in the right frame of mind I fear.
OH has just come back, he says its brass monkeys out there...............glad I did not go....ooooooohhhhhhhh thats not the right attitude is it??????
GB sorry to hear about your OH's bereavement, its always hard, but more so at Christmas,Pipkin glad that your little nephew is awake again, seizures are so frightening.......I have a cousin who has petite mal, occasionally she has full blown fits..........her parents are elderly now and find it difficult to cope with her.
I am so thankful we seem to have escaped from the sickness bug thats going around, its not me but if OH gets it, oh boy...................it will take him weeks to get over it.
Right a cup of tea calls, might even have a bit of shortbread...........................Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Hi!
Big hugs to Pipkin and Catznine and to anyone else who has poorly sick family members.
Well I didn't make it to church this morningso I'm feeling a little guilty about that.
I have been busy sorting out my menu file and making a list of food in the freezer, fridge and cupboards and I'm going to sort out a rough meal plan for the next few weeks. I'm going to make onion, ham and potato hotpot for tea as I need to use up the mountain of ham in the fridge.
We're going out for a long walk in a minute as we all need some exercise and then we'll come back and get stuck into hot chocolate and mince pies (again)! :rotfl:
We were going to the cinema tomorrow but we've decided to go into town to do a little shopping and then to spend the cinema money on a couple of new dvds to watch tomorrw night instead. We've got some fireworks left over from 5th Nov that were too big to set off in our tiny garden so we're going down to the park and river to set them off early tomorrow evening. An early new year firework celebration and then back home for hm pizza and dvds. We let the girls stay up late on new year's eve and we pop our poppers in the front garden at midnight and then we all have a lie-in the next morning.:D
Have a good rest of the day!0 -

My DD had dreadful headaches and they were getting worse - she is a perfectionist and sensitive though she tries to hide it.
We found a really good acupuncturist and it helped a lot - he is in Leeds so might not be much use to you.
Natzini
I found a site called swimhut online and got a suit delivered the next day - they have a really good selection.
Spent today trying to sort out the fridge as it is only six months old and stopped working. Phoned the company and they suggested turnng it off for 24 hours and then t should work as it has iced up!
Really hope this works.
Nipping down to the supermarket for veg for tea.
DD(22) has been really sick and has this bug that has been going around so trying to limit her to fluids.
Will need to buy a bag of ice as fridge is out of action!
Hugs to everyone.
DH has just informed me he would love belly pork - anyone now where best to buy it and how to cook it?"This site is addictive!"
