Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 30th December 2007. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Good Morning All cant believe noone else has started the thread yet - will just get the sticky.
Ok back again - hope this means that everyone is having a lovely lie in, I had one till 7am which is perfect for me.
Nice day ahead today, DDad is coming over and treating us all to a chinese buffet lunch, need to text him in a while to find out what time he is coming as there will be 9 of us and will probably need to book.
Will jump in the shower next and then finish the ironing which didnt get done yesterday as sat down after dinner and watched Titanic which strangely had never seen before, when it finished was quite depressed so watched Vicar of Dibly to cheer up.
Although didnt do the ironing still very pleased with what I got done, made a big difference with DS not here though I am now missing him & his chatter, OH will go and pick him up at 10ish.
Changed our minds and had beef strogonof yesterday which I hadnt cooked for ages - forgot how nice it was and how easy to cook.
Off for a quick surf now.
Have a great day.

Morning Essex-girl and all who follow :j
DH is still asleep, and DD is playing tennis on her new Wii.
I have done 2 loads of washing up, and am on my second load of washing (clothes).
Today we will be eating loads - I need to run the fridge and freezer down for our hols. The kitchen still looks like an off-licence - but I'm reliably informed alcohol keeps - so we won't need to drink it all before we go :rotfl:
Hope everyone has a great day (((((hugs)))))Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -

Morning Essex-girl and all who follow (lazy beggars aint they!)
The house is pretty tidy - for me - but todays plan is to have a mega sort out of The Room of Doom - dd11's room. I started sorting out her clothes yesterday but she wasn't here so I'm not sure what fits really. Her dad is going to decorate it while we are away so it must be decluttered.
Later dd and I will bike up to Mr T and do a big shop - must call the other dds first and see if they're coming over for new year or not before I shop.
Spoke to my ukdbro last night and he didn't have a great time with the rest of the family in holland. It seems that dad's wife was a bit difficult. Dad is having problems with his eldest other daughter (I'm the real eldest LOL). she is 15 and celebrated christmas by taking half an E. I hope we have a better time next week.
off for another coffee - have a good day
stefI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
Good morning Essex girl and SOMO1, and everyone who follows/cross posts!!!
Had a lovely day with DS yesterday, then went to collect DD, and ended up staying at friends house for dinner, which was a really nice surprise.
Today my 2 are seeing their dad, so im going sale shopping with my friend (who we had dinner with last night). We are also going to be 'ladies who lunch' not sure where we will go, but her husband will drop us off at the Barbican, and we will decide from there. He will also collect us later, so we will prob share a bottle of wine, so im really looking forward to a nice afternoon!!
Not looking forward to seeing childrens dad tho, hopefully he has bought them what i asked him for, for christmas - i think he has, he said he didnt need anymore ideas, as he had bought s*** loads, such a pleasent chap, but it does make me wonder what sort of rubbish he has spent his money on - prob loads for DS, and cheap tat for DD (thats what normally happens).
Well, i think i fancy some toast for breakfast, so im off to find some!!! Hope everyone has a lovely day,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -

Not much planned for today - will make a beef stew with dumplings for tea (will make something else for DS who is at the won't eat anything with brown stuff in!!!). Hoping i can persuade the kids and DH to take the decs down - not sure how that will go down. Taking our dog for a walk.
Might pop into Boots to see what reductions they have left. Apart from all that we will be vegging out in front of the telly. DD1 and i will probably end up upstairs as footie is on at 4pm.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning!
Got woken up today by the puppy jumping on me! difficult to go back to sleep after that!
Have spent some time surfing for info about migraines for dd, the latest attack was very bad and she still has some weakness on her right hand side especially her hand so writing is a bit difficult for her so trying to find out what will help (other than rest and nourishing meals etc) we had the warning from doctor about strokes  so big lifestyle changes ahead.
Today we were meant to be going to Wales to see my sister but to be honest the worry over this has just knocked me for six so will have to cancel again and I feel really bad about that
Sorry to be on a downer today! (((hugs))) to those that could use one
old style wise I have managed to freeze enough leftover meat for 22 meals! Got to sort out and freeze some parsnips, carrots and greens now!
love Catz xOur days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Morning All
I was up early this morning, I didn't sleep that well as I had lots of thoughts mulling around in my head about budgeting, menu planning etc. For January I am going to concentrate on menu planning and the Grocery Challenge, as I need to start off slowly or else I overwhelm myself.
Plans for today: Write up a menu plan for January, trying to use up what's in the larder (a lot of tinned chestnuts & chickpeas)
Tidy up our bedroom (my tidying up yesterday before our visitors arrived meant me throwing everything into our bedroom)
Tackle the washing pile.
GrannyBroon, I am sorry to hear your news.
Catowen, enjoy your day with your friend, and I hope all goes OK with the ex.
I must go and make a start on things, take care all.
