Off the phone with Staples. They canceled my order, but when I told that want all my items she offered CD player + free postage. I guess that's the best what you get from them. Promised within a week delivery.

It is something of a puzzle.

An e-commerce system is computerised ie if you have a 1000 of these to give away, you make a count as you drop them one by one into peoples baskets.

Then when you run out of these, you start on your stock of 2000 gift packs each containing a dead mouse, a ball of string and a piece of chewing gum.

Then when that runs out you drop nothing into their electronic baskets.

That way everybody gets what they were promised.

But to promise somebody a surround sound system and actually give them nothing, is bound to end in tears.

How very curious.

I remember when I tried to get the free towels by ordering a ruler. Two rulers arrivied in a big box along with a catalogue, no towels. I sent an email telling them that they'd forgotten to send the towels. I then recieved an apologetic response but following that I haven't recieved anything.

Unfortunately my old email address has run out so I'm unable to send further correspondence so I just let it lie.

That was the most expensive ruler I've ever bought. It cost almost £5!
