    I received the email too but yesterday I had a delivery of a very large box containing all the items I ordered (I ordered a bit more than just a pen or ruler) but no free gift.

    There was no supporting documentation but the address label said "Box 2 of 2" so I am keeping my fingers crossed for the free gift. Will keep you posted.

    Same sort of thing happened to me when I placed an order which included the freebie digital radio (it's !!!!!! btw) from Staples.

    I emailed, rang and generally made a nuisance of myself. Very surprised to receive a grovelling apology letter a few days ago with a voucher for £25 for use instore. Managed to find stocking fillers to the sum of £25.11 on Saturday ;D

    I've got a feeling no one will get this free gift of 4.1 speaker system as it's too good to be true.

    If Staples only send you the expensive "Pen" or "ruler" without the free gift, you can get your own back - RETURN IT!!

    This is what their website says:-

    Our goal is one-hundred percent customer satisfaction. If you dont like a product for any reason, we will collect it from you free of charge. You are entitled to return the goods within 30 days after placing the order, assuming the goods are unused, undamaged and in perfect original packaging. Contact us at CustomerSupport@online.staples.co.uk. Make a note of your customer number, the order number (= delivery note number), the reason why you are returning the items, and the item numbers, description and the number of packages to be collected. If you have specified a different delivery address for the order, dont forget to include details of where the goods need to be collected from. Please note that the driver is only authorised to collect a goods return if this has been agreed with Staples in advance via email, phone or fax. The driver is not able to accept the goods without an existing goods return instruction. The goods will be collected between the second and seventh working day after your goods return request has been received.

    If the courier company has not yet called at your premises after this time to collect the goods, please dont hesitate to contact us immediately at CustomerSupport@online.staples.co.uk.

    Please note: Fill out the goods return note included in your delivery and place this in the package to be collected.

    Newbie say's Hello,

    Although I have been reading these threads for some time thought I would sign up to reply to this one.

    I looked at my order status yesterday and the free gift has been removed from the order list.

    I have now Emailed them to ask what the possition is regarding my order that is now 2 weeks old.

    Just though I would share that as it has not been mentioned about order details being changed at the site.

    I too checked the order status (now two weeks old) and see the sound system removed. I have followed the 'Cancel order' route citing (a) removal of item and (b) unsatisfactory timescale for delivery.

    I checke my order history, and Free gift code is still there! I would pay full price for a sound system, compare to all headache with Staples >:(
