Wow, that's shocking to me, definitely wouldn't touch these with a barge pole. Sorry if you were offended but it just seems so surreal. Customer service is paramount to me, I honestly didn't imagine customer service to be so bad.
When's close of business I wonder, around now or earlier surely, did you get the money?

Nothing at all now, will check tomorrow. Get the  feeling I’m being fobbed off again because it’s a Friday.
I am likely to have to request it be a complaint at this stage, is it supposed to be paid into my ISA? I have no irea
surreal is certainly correct, glad I only invested the min required £100.
MSE have not yet responded only received an automated response.

Leaves a bad taste in your mouth doesn't it when things like this happen. I doubt Martin Lewis would be pleased to know how they are acting as it kind of impresses on MSE, even though of course it's not their fault, but still would have expected a reply at least.

It should not be paid into your ISA as they have no way of knowing if it would breach your £20k allowance, the rest of which might have been used elsewhere. But that doesn't mean it won't be, going on the care that has been put into this offer.

I had the same message this morning at 11.24. Just sent a reply back and probably won't get a response now until Monday. No reply from MSE but then again it's not their fault. Based on the initial posts on this thread back in August 2024 (including my own experience) this has been a disaster of a promotion by HL from the very beginning.
  • Nothing in balance as of today. Why would they make up the stuff not once but twice now, I’ll be submitting a complaint this evening.

I've been reading some of the HL reviews on Trust Pilot. Might need the £50 cashback to come out of this with something near my original £100 investment after they take their fees and other charges. Interesting that Trading212 have credited their £40 credit immediately, while HL really dragging their heels. Put this down to experience. I think there is a linked cash account to the S&SISA which the £50 cashback could be paid into.

I'm pretty sure you're confused, there's no fees for this account, it's a straight £50 earn, Martin would not have allowed it if it wasn't what it was supposed to be.

Hopefully nobody invested £100 in a S&S ISA with HL without understanding that the fees:
Though if you only invest £100 in a low cost fund, you'd be looking at total fees of less than £1. However, invest in a share or ETF and you'll be hit with dealing charges of £23.90 if you buy and then sell the investment.

Exactly, not sure why anyone would think anyone would have invested in anything other.
